Red Squirrel Eating Peanuts

If you ever wondered how long it takes a red squirrel to shell and eat a peanut, I timed it repeatedly at around 2 minutes. Now you know! Also, this little fellow tunneled a straight line from the tree he was nesting in to the feeder- about 100 feet under 18" of packed snow. No idea how he got his bearings right. A 30-second round trip to haul the nuts back to squirrel away in his nest.
