Great Review! I live in Indiana and a Winter ice storm could knock out the electricity. I found your vid while searching for an alternate Winter heat source in case of an emergency. It was a toss up between Mr Heater and a kerosene heater - FYI - based on your vid, I purchased this exact heater from Tractor Supply. I couldn't be happier.

I bought the 10,500 BTU convention heater. It's a smaller version of the one in this video. I use it in the winter to heat a 450 square foot cabin. It did a good job of keeping me comfortable last year. My cabin has no insulation but I live in Texas. I spent all of last winter trying to decide if I should've gotten the bigger version but it never got that cold inside.

What a great review! We have one and find it's heating well over 1,000 sqft. Great alternate source. At the end of the video they mention moving it to turn it off. DO NOT MOVE AN OPERATIONAL KEROSENE HEATER. It's incredibly dangerous.

Great job!! I had one of those radiant heaters and my daughter bought this type. I like them both the small radiant kerosene is 10,000 btu's and the other is 23,000 btu's. So I will be warm this winter and won't have to use my generator for heating.

Great Job on showing the Red Stone..very detailed...thanks.

Great review!! Was curious on the Red Stone brand when I was looking around in Tractor Supply. The funny thing is that the Red Stone kerosene heaters look very similar to the Dyna Glo kerosene heaters. I looked online and found out that both come from the same American supplier GHP group. So they may be made from the same manufacturer but rebadged differently.

+Clowpuncher2 It's been confirmed. Talked to GHP and Red Stone heaters and Dyna Glo heaters are EXACTLY the same.

Update to this video 2018. The wicks for this heater we had a hard time finding locally. Seemed all local stores didn't have them. Even Tractor Supply where we bought it didn't have any. We had to go online and order then. Be advised.

Home Depot carries them. Be prepared, it is a pain in the ass to do and has to absolutely be done correctly. www.homedepot.com/p/DuraHeat-Kerosene-Heater-Replacement-Wick-DH-145/100191043

Do you know what's going on when the knob locks up and won't turn any more?
@vincemajestyk94972 жыл бұрын
You should just let the wick 'burn down' every tank of fuel. Just let it run out of fuel and it will 'self clean' the wick. The fuel makes a difference too. They say you should only use K1 Kerosene, If you can afford it, it's super expensive right now. I used winter diesel but the wick needs to be cleaned more often. Really the wicks should last a long time if you burn them down often. I got one of these from TSC in 2018 for $99. It's great. BTW, once it gets low, set it outside when letting the wick clean. It gets smelly. Mine does that too shutting it down. I think it's normal for these. They stink for maybe 20 mins until it heats up and when you shut it down.

Great video… 8 years later how do you like the heat, do you still use the heater, what’s your weekly cost to run your heaters and do you get another one… I have two that I use during power outages and to heat houses we work in that doesn’t have heat

Gave thumbs down because this is a terrible heater from Redstone. Numbers listed no one answers phone or email. Her review is fine but avoid this brand heater
