Oh hawks and raptors love a freshly mown field!!! Full of lots of little rodents for them to catch easily!! Just yesterday driving on the highway 17 overpass for Ladner trunk road - saw 23 eagles sitting down in the field that had just been cut!! Fantastic sight! But no where to pull over on the highway! 😄👍❤️

I could tell almost immediately (without looking at your username) that you were in the Pacific Northwest! I heard a White-crowned Sparrow (pugetensis) in the background. Grew up just north of Seattle, and used to hear them all the time. Their call (in my area) had one extra note at the end. White-crowned Sparrows change their song as you move from area to area, so hearing this one? Great indicator of general location. :) Took me years to figure out what bird it was that I used to hear all the time. Oh - and loved the Hawk!

Blue Jays can do a pretty good imitation of a red-tailed hawk. Also, in Tarzan and other African jungle movies you'll often hear a bird that gives out a sort of crying sound. Problem is that the bird making the sound is a limpkin, which is found only in the American tropics.
