Joy is the reason I got into Red Velvet and K-pop in general. While I came to love her sweet voice, what interested me in her was her personality. She’s so incredibly sincere and transparent with her feelings and shortcomings that I connected with her. I felt sad that she was so hard on herself, because I could empathize since I’m often overly self-critical too. Her journey in appreciating herself more and accepting who she is (including her limitations) while pursuing self-improvement is something that I admire and hope to emulate.

The only think I would say that I'm so proud of her, all her achievements in 7 years as an artist can't believe all her journey since happiness era and now she got her solo debut and plus her comeback as an actress. It makes me so happy that she got more compliments from other people and she gained more her confidence infront of many people. Joy’s voice are the reason i got into Red Velvet before having Wendy as my bias. I think since 2016? When she sang during yoo hyeol sketchbook. U can’t denied her voice are wayyy tooo unique and different from other idol in kpop. Even professional vocal trainer said the same thing. Joy didn’t use nasal voice maybe her chest or throat voice. She only used her nasal voice when she talk if u guys notice. This is why back then people assume Joy is actually a robot or clone in SM, not a human with how different her role in every RV MV and stuff (sadly SM slowly get rid of that concept T-T). This is why she is the weapon of SM!

Joy is really a deep person. (other Red Velvet members too but since this vid is about Joy, i'll add 1 thing not mention her) Y'all know she loves animals (especially dogs) and kids. Before she gt Haetnim, fans had asked her to adopt a dog. But instead she said before she adopt one, she wanna make sure she is really prepared to take care of it as a dog is also a living being, has life and feelings. So due to Red Velvet's busy schedules she didn't. But she volunteered at animal shelter to experience taking care of a dog, cleaning them up after their #2, bath them, walk them, train them etc when she has some free time. Then she adopted Haetnim. Although Haetnim is with her family now, but whenever they meet, we can see they're close and happy with one another 🥺 I think pet owner should do what she do. get educated before actually getting a pet or even a baby. They're cute yes, but what about training? food? vaccines? cleaning up after them if they're mot potty trained or when they're on bad behaviour? U don't js throw them away frm bad behaviour, instead correct them, train them, teach them. There's youtube here with dog training videos. If u need a trainer, get it. Obedience class? get it.

This makes me feel really proud of Joy! You've covered a lot about her, but I think one thing that you missed to highlight is how she also became one of the known OST queens because of her very popular "Introduce Me A Good Person", giving her a baeksang nomination even without a solo debut back then! It's such a huge accomplishment. Also I think Joy is a very strategic person. Most of the opportunities she has now is a product of her hard work and connections in the past... and it showed in her solo debut!

There's really something about Joy that when you look at RedVelvet as a group she stood up the most for me. I love her personality she ain't called SEXY DYNAMITE for nothing. Recently some of the knetz even said that she's the public's picks and I like that, she's still doing great in the charts despite of many groups comebacks.
