Red Velvet is known for 2 things - amazing vocals especially vocal layering in choruses, and absolutely psychotically weird music videos. The Cosmic music video for example is an homage to a Netflix horror movie called Midsommar about a murderous cult. In the MV for Russian Roulette they are constantly trying to murder each other, and in Peek-A-Boo they are trying to murder a pizza boy. In Chill Kill they murder some kind of captor, possibly an evil (step?)father.

"Psycho" is my favorite kpop song ever, the story is so amazing; she knows shes in a toxic relationship, she knows this is wrong, then it ends with "itll be ok" over and over while she picks out a wedding dress. Its been 5 years and I still cry to this. "Feel My Rhythm" is number 3 on my list, DO NOT MISS THAT ONE

Red Velvet concept is my favourite in K-pop, it's goes like this: # Red songs - fan, upbeat, dancy kinds of songs. Dumb Dumb, Red flavor and Zimzalabim for example. # Velvet songs - more rnb and "dark" vibe, like Psycho and Bad Boy. # Red Velvet songs - somewhere in between, like Cosmic, Chill Kill and Feel My Rhythm. Psycho and Bad Boy are the general public favourites so you liking Cosmic the most makes me very happy 😅(it's their latest comeback, the fandom absolutely love this song but it didn't do very well on charts like most of their songs..)

Yey! Thank you for reacting to Red Velvet! I was lowkey looking forward to it since I've watched your Aespa reactions (Both Aespa and Red Velvet are from the same agency and they're actually close with each othe). I'm glad that you really loved RV. If you ever checked more of their music videos, I hope you won't get too shocked because Red Velvet is famous for not repeating a concept so yes, all of their title tracks have different sounds and they don't do them twice. They have three sides to their songs tho, RED, VELVET, and RED VELVET; RED - cheerful and bubbly music, it's mostly pop music and often summery music (they're considered the Summer Queens in Korea). I recommend Red Flavor, Russian Roulette, and Umpah Umpah for their brighter concept. VELVET - more mature and elegant like Psycho and Bad Boy, the songs are usually R&B or ballad. Aside from the two you've reacted to, there's Automatic, One of These Nights, and Be Natural. RED VELVET - a combination of both concepts, it's literally like upbeat and darker, classical music put together and the best example for this is Chill Kill, Zimzalabim, Feel My Rhythm, and Peek-A-Boo (PAB is actually more VELVET than it is RED) lol according to the members, Cosmic is under this since they have solidified the RED VELVET concept as their group's music identity so they've been releasing more RED VELVET songs. Anyway, I'd like to say that Cosmic is my favorite title track from them but you have to watch out for their B-sides too because they're well-known as B-side Queens lol I hope you delve deeper into their songs because most people who love them are musically inclined since their music are very versatile and their releases are unpredictable.

I'd definitely recommend you check out some of their b-sides! I may be biased but for me, RV have on of the best discographies in kpop. Red Velvet's discography is divided in the Red side and the Velvet side. The first 2 wete Velvet, more R&B, and sometimes a bit Hip-Hop or ballads. The last one was more Red (but with Velvet influences), its usually more pop and cheerful, most of their biggest hits are Red, so if you like Cosmic more maybe you will like their Red songs! I would recommend Russian Roulette, Red Flavor, Ice Cream Cake, Power Up etc.

Another one of my Ult groups. I love Red Velvet so much and there is always a song that makes people fall for them before they get into the rest of their music. I'm so glad cosmic could be that song for you, it is really is a gorgeous song. Psycho will always have a special place for me when it comes to these 3 songs and is one of my favorite k-pop songs of all-time still First thing: They have a Killing Voice video where they sing through a lot of snippets of their discography and it's about 30 minutes long. You can see who is singing and hear them live and maybe get a taste of what songs you want to check out from them. I'd actually say to do that and just write down the titles of ones that catch your attention (their discography is pretty big so getting through it is a journey.)
