2:57:29 I think the reason why the ending got me so off guard on my first watching was because I was watching this on Netflix when it was still there, by this point I checked and there were still a few minutes left, I figured it was gonna be a big show off action piece. I kept thinking "no no" as church was talking. I was so used to stories were everyone made it, or like he said, I never thought that "the hero never gets to see that ending" When it cut to black and the title popped I was just so shocked. Miles really did something here, something I've yet to see again and that frankly I doubt I'll ever see again. I'm just so glad to have been ables to experience it like that upon first watch

6-13 will never be topped in Media. World building, character development, the consistent comedy, bits of drama and tensions. 9-10 The FreeLancer Saga i believe has some of, if not the best Animation of the 2010s, especially the fight scenes done by Monty Oum. That man worked miracles.

It was the trophy room. We see her operate it three times over the course of season 12 and 13. All the relics of the fall of Freelancer, such as the Brute Shot/Grif Shot, the memory/capture unit, Epsilon Tex's helmet, the monitor body Church had in season 7 and 8, the Meta's suit, and especially the pistol the Director used to kill himself (which was off model in season 13 but come on, we all know that was it) were all processed by her.

No matter how many times I watch this, or how many years have passed with more seasons and stuff....that ending..man, this was the perfect culmination of everything that has happened since season 1. All the pain, hardships, loss, character growth, and friends made a long the way. And in the end, when all is said and done, you really do just have to have faith in the people you care about. I'm 32 years old, and been watching since season 2, and have rewatched this show so many many times...but it's still such an amazing, heartfelt ride. The passion, love, and care put into this show astounds me. And the characters are unforgettable, no matter who you are or how long it has been. It's not goodbye, because as long as they are remembered, they're never truly gone. So instead...we will see you again soon, and thank you, for everything.

Church's "the hero will never get to see that ending" speech is up there with Samwise Gamgee's "the things that really matter" speech from LOTR to me. Years in the making. A hundred different plot threads and stories. A dozen deaths and revivals, and this is how Church's story ends. It's so fitting for everything the reds and blues went through, it's incredible

My one disappointment in this season is the Counselor. He was a really intriguing character whose own morality was left ambiguous even up to his death, but that made it more underwhelming when he died without even reuniting with the Freelancers. Felt like they threw him in there without a plot in mind.

I wanted to learn how to make videos like this. Not even for a full series. I wanted to animate my own ending to season 13. Yes the church ending was perfection but i wanted to make an ending where they lose. Basically my plan was to animate something where Wash, and Carolina make it to the control room where the battle happened, but the room is mostly empty. Wash sees something sitting on the floor in the room and kneels down and takes off his helmet. The camera is zoomed so all we see is like his mouth/jaw just like they did with the Director but you see a tear drip down the face, he picks up the object that was on the ground and it ignites revealing to be Tuckers energy sword. And then it cuts out. Like quick 1 minute animation but with a sad ending. Charon still goes down but the Reds and Blues dont make it out.
