Red West,The Man Who Protected Elvis Presley.

This is a story about Elvis Presley & Red West.Red was Elvis's friend from high school that went on to be not only Elvis's bodyguard and a member of the Memphis Mafia but also had a career in acting and songwriting as well.Red was with Elvis on and off for 20 years as his bodyguard but also in his own rite,carved out a nice little career in Hollywood as well.Red also was a songwriter and also used to personally select songs for Elvis to record.Red also married Elvis's secretary Pat in 1961 and they had 2 children together along with 6 grandchildren.Red passed away in 2017 at the age of 81 due to an aortic aneurism.

So after a little investigating, because I wanted to make sure ,Red Co-wrote 2 songs for Elvis to record and those 2 were,"Separate Ways", & "If You talk In Your Sleep",in 1972,for the album Promised Land.Red wrote another song for Elvis previous to those 2,and that song is called, "If Every Day Was Like Christmas" in 1966.Thank you all for watching!!! ⚡😎⚡

...great tribute to Red, Rich! In anything I've ever seen of his Elvis recollections, he always gave off a very "genuine" vibe. I think underneath that gruff exterior he really was a softy, & a very talented songwriter (wasn't he partially responsible for Elvis' song "Separate Ways"?).Overall though, I must admit that bad-ass persona he had was awesome!⚡👊⚡
