Red & White Layered Cake | Indonesian Flag Cake Recipe
Ingredients
Ingredient A
380 to 400 g Granulated Sugar, to taste;
2 Pandan leaves tied in a knot, replaceable with ½ tsp Vanilla Powder;
½ tsp fine or coarse Salt;
1750 ml of Coconut Milk Solution, this coconut milk is obtained from the juice of 1 of grated coconut or the equivalent of 700 grams of grated coconut.
Ingredients B
2 tbsp of betel lime solution (betel lime soaked in water until clear, then take 2 tablespoons of the clear water). Actually, this is optional, if you want to skip it, that’s okay too:
350 grams Tapioca Flour or Starch.
350 grams Wheat Flour.
Batter Distribution
// 2500 grams batter is divided into 2 parts as follows:
930 grams for Red batter, then the remaining 1570 grams is left white.

Then for the red batter it is divided by 2 again:
290 grams of red batter is used as the pattern batter, and added with 45 grams of starch.
Then the remaining 640 grams for the basic batter.

While for the white batter is also divided into 2, namely:
125 grams × 10 times pouring used as the pattern batter.
The remaining 320 grams is used as a pattern batter.

For beginners, here is a short list of the order of pouring the batter. If you want to make, please copy and print. So, it can be used as a reference so that the coating results can be precise and avoid failure due to missed steps.

The Order for the Batter Pouring
1. 1st Layer, pour 160 grams of the basic red batter.
2. 2nd layer, pour 160 grams of white base batter.
3. 3rd layer, pour 160 grams of the basic red batter.
4. 4th layer, pour 125 grams of white divider batter.
5. The 5th layer goes into the pattern batter, divide the pan into 3 parts, each 6 cm wide. Line it long. Then line it with red color on the right side. Then also a line in red on the left side. The red line right in the middle. Total 3 lines.
6. 6th Layer, pour 125 grams of white divider batter
7. The 7th Layer, the red pattern line on the right to the right. And the red pattern line on the left to the left. As for the red color in the middle, the line goes to the right and left. Total 4 lines.
8. The 8th layer, pour 125 g of white divider batter.
9. The 9th layer, the red pattern line on the right to the right. And the red pattern line on the left to the left. As for the red color in the middle, the line goes to the right and left. Total still 4 lines.
10. The 10th layer, pour 125 grams of white divider mixture.
11. 11th layer, outline the same way as before. Total still 4 lines.
12. The 12th layer, pour 125 grams of white divider batter.
13. The 13th layer. Just like before, move again from the position of the previous layer pattern, the right to the right, the left to the left, as well as the middle one. The difference is for the red color in the middle, one more line is added. There are 5 lines in total.
14. The 14th layer pour 125 grams of white divider batter.
15. The 15th layer. The red line stuck on the right is lined to the left. While the red one on the left is lined to the right. Likewise, the red ones in the middle of each are pulled in the opposite direction. The one on the left is pulled to the right, and the one on the right is shifted to the left. The point is that all motives are shifted inward.
16. The 16th layer pour 125 grams of white divider batter.
17. The 17th layer is still the same, slide the red line on the left to the right, and vice versa. While the middle one is shifted inward.
18. Layer 18, pour 125 grams of white divider batter.
19. Layer 19 is still the same, slide the red line on the left to the right, and vice versa. The middle one too.
20. The 20th layer, pour 125 grams of white divider mixture.
21. For the 21st layer, the method is the same, only the difference is that the red one in the middle becomes only 1 line. Because this is the last motive. So in total there are only 3 lines.
22. The 22nd layer, pour 125 grams of white divider batter.
23. The 23rd layer pour 160 grams of the basic red batter.
24. The 24th layer, pour 160 grams of white base batter.
25. The last layer, pour 160 grams of the basic red batter.
