I already commented, but what's another one? I think the sex scene touched me so much because so much of the world views queer sex as this dirty thing, even now in 2023. Yet here we have this loving, passionate, *romantic* scene between two men that's done so artistically well and doesn't showcase it as some physical act, but truly makes it about the connection between them and the passion that they're building and sharing between each other. I don't think I've ever seen a sex scene done so well, queer or otherwise. A+ for Taylor and Nick, the director, editor, and intimacy coach.

Yesssss. I am here for your screaming laughter. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was absolutely howling at Henry COUNTING THE FUCKING BOOKS 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 💀. The butterflies when the talk are cute, because they are getting butterflies. Henry has insomnia, sleeps well with Alex. Alex makes fun of his dull tie, he starts wearing colours. Henry notices Alex is nervous in the closet at the hospital, so he distracted him by asking about his cologne. Alex picking up Henry nervous habit of playing with his ring. The moments when they want to touch hand, like in the restaurant, but can't so their hands are fidgeting. Little thing like show great attention to detail.

Alex laughs when Henry says “I think we should make love tonight” but that’s exactly what they did in the end. It was so beautiful and intimate. Also it’s really funny because in the beginning of their hook up Henry was adamant that they should keep things casual so that Alex does not fall in love with him but he goes and says they should make love..🤔 My poor Henry was already in love and he did not know it.

Just today I learned that the two leads were crying during the filming of storming the castle scene later. Each was so involved in the emotion of it that they broke down. First Nicholas; then Taylor. This could have been a movie where they spend more time leading up the New Year's kiss, the two could have held it a bit longer, and the movie end with a happy ending. But thank goodness they are just teeing up for more. And I get emotional thinking about the party, where Alex is clearing flirting with Henry the entire time, although it seems he isn't self-aware, although Henry is. If there hadn't been the tradition of the new year's kiss - which Henry knew he couldn't do - they might have just kept interacting with each other and growing closer. But then we wouldn't have had much of a story. I can't help reliving where Henry is just standing there in the midst of the party after Alex is kissing all the girls, and then he is outside and crying. I can barely type this without doing this too, and by now I can't tell you how many times I've seen this already.

Yes, yes, yes! I mean everything so gorgeously done but like *That Scene* like you said "grace" "romantic" "tenderness" all of it. The chemistry between these two was kind of perfection. I love this movie and your reaction gave me life. I didn't realize how much I needed this movie. A positive rom-com, that delivers on the romance, the comedy and emotions. As a queer person, I am so tired that a lot of the representation we get in entertainment is all about our traumas. I had a similar reaction like you with the intimate scene and I questioned why. I realized, this is likely the first time I've watched such a sensual, delicate, caring intimate s** scene between two men. It's usually aggressive, violent, and/or the character is doing it under some kind of distress, confused, feels forced, etc, etc...you get the point. It was done with such class and taste. I am with you, the chemistry between these two actors is off the chart. There is a sweetness that I captured from Henry as he says goodbye to Alex after the hospital visit. The way he looks at him as they were shaking hands. And we see that same look of love and sweetness from Alex as the movie progresses. I want more! 🙂

I've watched several reaction videos and I've seen the movie a few times now and I giggled watching your reactions. I totally get the excitement and the joy of watching these two realize what we all realized from the first 30 seconds...they are SO into each other. It's obvious to everyone but them. I read, and loved, the book and I made a conscious effort to not directly compare the movie to the book to not set myself up for disappointment, but I wasn't disappointed. I love the move in a different way than I love the book. The book is so damn romantic, but the movie is funnier with a quicker pace. It's like a Cliffs-Notes (are those a thing outside the US?) version of the book, and that's not a bad thing.
