I remember taking my saddle shoes in for repair in the 1950s & was ready to rock n roll again. I wore them for a long time, shoes were made to last back then.

@@matttherrien9608 To be honest, I like them but I don’t wear them much. I wear them when the weather is decent on my motorcycles. I don’t wear them at work because I’m on concrete all day and they don’t hav the support I need. I was just thinking about them the other day. I’m going to be retiring soon and I’ll probably wear them more when I’m not stuck on a concrete floor for 9-11 hours a day.

@@RapperGuardi I agree, the Roll Club soles look fantastic. I have no idea as to the comfort or longevity though. My thought is this, if you're going to give $350ish for a pair of boots and about the same for a resole (I'm guessing) BEFORE the resole is needed why not just have Brian make a pair specifically for your feet.

Love this video. Beautiful boots too. It reminds me of how I have to break in my pointe shoes, cut the bottom shank 3/4 from the back & remove it, then reassemble/sew the ballet shoe the way I need it.

My father was a German-trained carpenter that worked proudly with his hands, up until the day he died at the age of 52 in an accident. He taught me that his hands put food on our table, and clothes on our backs. Machines will NEVER replace the hands of a trained craftsman. Brian, I hope that when you have children you'll pass your craft down to them.

Why no channel for the outsole stiching to bury them?-And same for around the shank on the sole?-the stitches are only going to wear away quicker if they are not sunk?- Just wondered. Nice video- Glad you included some footage of the new welt being stiched on on this repair.
