I don't think there are any rules on having modifiers on. Most of them don't have much affect on the run, so I thought why not have them on to get increased currency rewards. I wonder if having faster enemies may help with having them come at you quicker in a room.

just wondering why you choose energy suit first?

I think at the time I was trying to get more energy options from rooms. Like faster fire rate or movement speed/dashes. But now I think there may be better suit options that would give benefits for the entire run and would rely less on randomness.

Not that I am aware of. They buffed a lot of experiments shortly after launch though.
