I find this comment alot under his videos and I think a lot of it is because were attracted and lured unconsciously towards people who are unapologetically themselves. Were sometimes manipulated to like people who are basically molded into what a majority like, cookie cutter to draw in as many as possible and offend the least amount possible- like most people in Hollywood. But we can spot someone being true to themselves instantly. Even if we dont always agree with them, we respect it. Its a big reason so many adore Shia LaBeouf, Nicholas Cage, Woody Harrelson etc. Even if they have more bad movies than good or maybe missing a chromosome (kidding), it's clear they're unashamed in who they are and want to be and we admire that bc we wish to be that, or be AROUND that. Add his comedic timing and quick thinking, people who adore someone hes bashing will battle between hating him and respecting him for such an outlandish opinion that most would scurry away from for the hate they'd get going after celebrities much bigger than him. Yeah, I like quite a few of the people he regularly trashes: Cumia, Rogan, etc. (Actually, that might be it.) And plenty more I had little to no idea who they even were before watching Redbar's takedown of them. In fact, the clips that got me into him were the Impaulsive ones. There are two things I will give Rogan credit for. Firstly, is having all these comics on and showing us how unfunny they are and that anyone can become a comic if they spend years and years failing upwards. Secondly, is that in the rare case he does have a great guest on like Gavin (His appearances were great not saying he still is) or Alex Jones (Some of the best podcast content of all time). He let's the guest shine and be the main draw of the episode. So even though I find Rogan boring and unfunny I can still enjoy the guest. As opposed to someone like Ethan from H3H3 who always wants the spotlight and doesn't know how to be natural and let the guest be the main entertainment.
