Such an iconic bass line. Even the bass line on the verse is very interesting. But I want compelled the original bass player to do that run? Just a stroke of genius for us music geeks.

I followed this guy for over 5 years now and his Washburn Taurus is immortal!!! - just proves you don't need a very expensive gear to be a great bass player!
@SamuraiGuy3 жыл бұрын
Is a $700 instrument "not expensive"? I felt like a squier precision at $230 was that area. To me, $700 is premium.
@pchykins66803 жыл бұрын
@@SamuraiGuy Yes, a $700 bass used by a professional/classically trained musician is kinda "cheap" compared to the more famous Fender American Standard/DeLuxe which are always priced at over $1200...There are other brands that are valued so much by Pros, such as Fodera, Alembic, Le Fay, etc etc that could reach up to $5000, or even more :) Also, Squire isn't considered a high-end Fender build. It's more like a starter kit/sub-professional instrument.
@AFlyingMayMay2 жыл бұрын
@@pchykins6680 depends on if it is a Squire Afinity or plain ol Squire. I got a Squire 40th Anniversary Jazz bass and it ran me $599 and plays beautifully

I absolutely love my $200 Ibanez GSR200 bass. Looks great, and the neck feels better than many $1000 basses I’ve tried and put right back down. Sure it’s not got a wide range of sounds despite being an active P/J, but honestly it doesn’t sound half bad, especially through a large amp or a DI.

@Stiglr4 жыл бұрын
This is such a cool bass line, if only for how it seems to start with one pattern for the verse or chorus, and then go to a second one for the rest of the sequence. Listen to how the first verse starts with the simplest progression, then goes to a more flowing, grooving eighth note variant of same. And then, how that eighth note pattern extends into the very first "Come and Get Your Love" line of the chorus, followed "late" by the busy, swing-time, rising note run. These all seem like mistakes... but since they're repeated throughout the song, they must have been planned that way. Love it if you like it INDEED!!! This is a classic!
