Dario Costa became the first person to fly a plane through a tunnel, taking off in one tunnel and flying his race airplane into and out of the second at 250kph to set several world records and enter aviation history. Dario is an experienced professional race pilot and whilst he had been dreaming of attempting this for years, he knew it would be a complicated challenge.

Y'know what would have been really funny to do? After they're done filming this, land the plane and _drive_ it through the tunnel. Then you could release a separate prank video entitled "Driving a plane through a tunnel." Even better if there are a few cars to drive in traffic with the plane. Or alternately the plane could have just flown a few feet lower the first time so the wheels were touching the ground, that might count as driving too.

It's sad that nobody will even remember this guy in a month. I guarantee few people who watched this know his name. I certainly don't. And that's not to trivialize what he did. This man did an amazing feat of aerobatics. But unfortunately, first off it's not flashy or glamourous like Felix Baumgartner's parachuting record. It hasn't been heavily publicized. I didn't even know this existed until today. But that's just how humans, and their memory is. We forget things easily. Especially if they get replaced by something bigger. It's like our brains have a box for short term memory that only holds so much. And when something new, or more important comes along, it knocks out whatever was in there before. But that's why videos like this are great because they immortalize things like this whether our human minds can remember them or not. And no matter how many times we forget. The video will always be there to remind even just a few people that this amazing man did this amazing stunt.
