I'm american, I absolutely love rally and have top notch respect for the drivers. I really can't watch any other form of racing after discovering it. Just letting you know not all of us are ignorant, that shit is pure skill. I'll never understand hatin' on somebody's love for another form of racing, keep rockin'.

You forgot the "Mears Gang both Rick and Roger" and one of the best ever Parnelli Jones both Sprint cars and Baja racer. All old Baja 1000 racers. I remember going to the Baja races with Mike Johnson, Jimmie's dad and with Robby's dad Mr Gordon and his partner Frank Vessels. Once dirt gets in your veins it is hard to get rid of it.

Nice to know that there are Americans who enjoy rally too :) don't get me wrong, I love Baja. Hell I love any motorsport, but you can't beat going to places like Finland, Sweden and even here in the UK to see some of the worlds most skilled drivers floor it through the forests ;)

Hmm, true I guess, but any type of Caja, whether is be the Baja 1000 or 'point to point' style Baja, its generally the same as what you see in this video. As I said, Baja is all about endurance, driving across long straight desert corses over huge jumps. Rally is all about point to point stages through technical environments such as the Finnish forests or the Alps of Monaco, so rally kind of does require more skill and fast reactions as I said. All the said I still love both motorsports :)

I don't watch rally much but you should maybe take a second look at the baja 1000. The track changes every time, no one knows where they are going or what is around the next corner and they are traveling at crazy speed. People die in the baja 1000 it is so tough

Yeah I get your point there, what I do give rally racers is that since they stages arent very long they have to push it the whole way through. Its pretty hard to die in a trophy truck though haha But death rates aren't really a fair comparison because baja is only 3 races a year, as where rally is all year long through different associations. If anything its usually the spectators that die trying to drive in the course in quads or average trucks haha

"Rally requires much more skill and fast reactions, Baja requires more endurance." I believe that this statement is far too general. When referring to rally racing you are referring to a very specific and regulated typed of racing. However, when referring to Baja, you could be talking about motorcycles, trucks, buggies, quads, or cars. I just think that it's important to recognize the type of generalization you're making when you say 'Baja Racing'.

Fair point, but think about the technical courses of rally stages. Obviosuly it takes balls to floor it across the Baja desert in a Trophy Truck, but it also takes balls to fly through the trees of the Finnish forests sideways at 110mph. Its just as scary if not scarier. As I said I love both Baja and Rally, but I can probably name a lot more rally drivers that have died than Baja drivers, just sayin'.

I respect all drivers in any motor sport whether its on land or water because they all require having the balls to push it to be the fastest But you are very wrong if you think rally requires more skill...baja and rally require equal amounts of skill and fast reactions. Ive driven offroad through dirt whoops and at 40mph you feel like your going 100mph with your back end is spinning out Imagine driving through dirt whoops at 110 mph atleast rally racers have semi flat dirt roads and pavement.

Nascar has nothing to do with this video? Maybe your delusional. Anyway, our 5 time nascar champ, Jimmie Johnson, grew up racing dirt bikes and trophy trucks in Southern California deserts. Robby Gordon (nascar driver) has competed in both the Baja 1000 and Dakar (16 day race in south america desert). Nascar driver Travis Pastrana, has 4 consecutive Rally America Championships. Just about every Nascar driver grew up racing on dirt.
