Ernest Frigelj so premiership footballers deserve 6+ million a year when at times they might not even pay nor perform. My issue really is that many sports are way ahead in terms of pay and they are not putting themselves in the line of fire every week. It’s more that the other sports over earn but MTB definitely deserves to be on par it’s a huge industry with high cost products
@AUSTIN_RIDES4 жыл бұрын
It really all depends on what the industry dictates and how much money there is to go around you cant really say that downhillers and football players should be payed the same American football is a 15 billion dollar industry and cycling is nowhere close to that just less money to go around is all

Perspective... Keeping it real... If a woman shows up to a local MTB race, she's on the podium... Its that easy for women athletes in niche sports like MTB racing, cycling, triathlon, etc. Fact is, the amateur men finish faster than the pro women. Yet, the amateur men go home with zero cash. if you want to make more money, pick a spectator sport. NASCAR stadiums sell out as many as 300,000 ticket buying fans... There's a reason those athletes are paid more. Enjoy the fact you can live and eat well for riding your bicycle...

I don't think they are underpaid... It's the football that pays too much to the athletes... Why I say this? Well, how many engineers/doctors and others that have high responsibility jobs (that are responsible for peoples life's and safety or even for people's jobs...) are earning +1million? Still, for some of these professionals, if something goes rong, they may just lose their freedom (prison) or at least their job FOR LIFE. Plus, most of them had to invest a lot in their education and spend a lot of time studying to become what they dream to be while these athletes were already living their job/dream (instead of going through a very long and demanding process to finally start to race...) You can say there are only a few athletes with this level and for that reason they should be valued... Sure but more than those professionals that are responsible for your life or your job? The pressure these athletes feel is only regarding their career, not others lifes or for instance, if their brand goes bankrupt... ;)
