Watched this after Rising series and went thru a roll of tp crying. She is so full of passion and such a great athlete full of emotion. Thanks to Kate, Nino and all the other athletes for bringing out the best in humankind. Whenever i get fed up with all the crap going around, i watch these people to remind myself what we are capable of as a species.

SirCamsmorethanalot: Gotcha 😀. I didn’t know a thing about XC. Didn’t know the names or faces. Downhill is my primary interest. I started watching Red Bull’s Fast Life series that showcased 2 new young guns vying to be contenders over several years: Finn Iles (downhill) and Kate Courtney (XC). Found it absolutely riveting and entertaining. In women’s XC Yolanda dominated the first year. I found her to be an absolute conundrum. If I met Jolanda on the street, not knowing who she was, with all that hair and makeup, and with that little stick body of hers, not in a million years would I guess that such a tenacious, world class, winning athletic lurked within. I watched the series in order and didn’t “cheat” by googling 2019’s results. It was a total surprise to me that Kate ended up taking the title. Finn didn’t fair nearly as good. Finn went from maybe being the best junior men’s DH ever to getting his azz handed to him over and over by the pros - especially Loic Bruni (of course). That may be the best sports series I’ve ever watched. In any sport. So now I’m very interested in watching next years women’s XC. BTW I’m American so I was rooting for Kate. But never expected her to do so good 😊

I’m new to xc I’ve raced Mx but I’m now really getting into xc. Are the female riders better when it comes to xc racing? Sorry if that sounds wrong. I’m more interested in watching them anyways the men’s races are not as fun to watch
@sfer14 жыл бұрын
No, the fastest female is 15-20% slower than the fastest male, but the women's races tend to be more interesting to watch, because there're more riders capable of winning.

Why is Kate so annoying? There's a subtle arrogance or some such undertone that the other women have not devolved to. Maybe it is a USA thing exemplified by Trump!
