REPLAY: Diving off the historic Stari Most bridge in Mostar, Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series 2022

The series’ seventh visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site marks the start of the second half of the season and the cliff diving elite will compete from a new platform design inspired by local building tradition. For three years in a row between 2017-2019, Stari Most bridge played host to the penultimate stop of the season, a crucial point at which pressure can make or break an athlete’s season. In 2019, Gary Hunt and Rhiannan Iffland secured their titles here, while Constantin Popovici scored five 10s for a perfect dive.

I like how the divers are having a good time and getting the crowds involved by showing their have positive and outgoing personalities. That's really an essential but often missing ingredient in sports these days. I hope this catches on.

Around 10 feet or 5 meters.But bottom of the river underneath the bridge is sand.

It’s deep but that’s not the problem, this river is so cold and fast it’s insane. Some people get cramps by just getting inside for a little bit. I 👏👏 all divers they are all incredible. This is city I went to school btw. Love Mostar ❤️ greetings from 🇨🇦

It's pretty deep, most people dont know how dangerous Neretva is, its very cold, fast and there is lots of dangerous caves under.

Can I ask why do the woman dive from a lower height?

Because their bodies are slightly more fragile then the men. The rate of speed they come off those platforms is high, and the gravitational forces on them when they hit the water is also incredibly high! That is also why all the divers enter the water feet first. If they hit head first, they could easily break a neck or suffer some concussive affects from it. It's all safety.

The men's series is getting more exciting. I mean the women are great, I just find their series predictable and a little boring. Same names, and the same athletes. Someone has to challenge Iffland. But kudos to Carlson. She’s to watch for. The men are really into their hit of the peak. 🙌🙌🙌👏👊🍻 Overall congrats to the winners. 🤿🤿🤿
