You raised the center of gravity by pushing the skid up. The motor and transmission are now a little higher. The only change achieved would be the same as putting the upper links in the upper mount position and a wee bit of belly clearance.

Okay we were confusing ourselves about suspension geometry, but we understand now. We will take a wee bit of clearance on these rocks! Thanks for the insight!

Thanks for the info. Now, I have to sit and wait until Monday for it to deliver. I have 2 hobby shops within an hour of my house and neither had one, so I had to order. Dont you hate when that happens?

I put my battery up front it works great right in front the shocks they even had little plastic place to lay it lol and the Velcro strap goes around it great up there, I just left my esc where it was ..I love my ascent 18 its a crawling beast... ✌🏼👍🏼

Nice i have one and put injora comp pins on there and it makes work of the rocks behind my house. Btw you could of put the esc inbetween the front shock towers, thats what i did and i works

Thanks for the tip, we've read some doing the same with the ESC location. We had the ESC on the front tray at first it seemed to compress or interfere with mounting the body, tight fit on ours.

The battery works good up front too I couldn't believe how easy it was and like it was supposed to mount there I put the Velcro strap around it yeah it worked good.

Try sidehilling that setup. It won't work you've raised the cg on the rig to turn it into a turtle

I would think if anything it just gained a wee bit more clearance as they moved the shocks inward which might have dropped it slightly anyways. Cancelling out any effect of the raised skid position. Either way they have videos in their social media of it side hilling and it seemed to do fine 🤟🏼 And then there’s the physics of suspension geometry going on here in reference to anti-dive or anti-squat which I think that’s what those link positions actually help with.
