No one sounds like them ❤️❤️❤️❤️stop!!!!! They are the best no matter what. Money 💰,radios and record labels do not dictate art.... they can inflate, inject, fake artist. no one can tell these musicians how to play and write or produce their music. They had created their sound😳they know what to do... better than all commercial unflattering, boring music/producers/musicians

Because this was 1994 and I was heavily into all of this music back then. In 1994, alternative started to mean bands like the Spin Doctors and Dave Matthews Band. Glorified bar band bullshit that appealed to lowest common denominator fans who knew nothing about what true musical genius was. Sadly, shit bands like DMB paved the way for more commercialized garbage and 5 years later, we suddenly had N'Sync and the Backdoor Boys. It's a shame... if it weren't for awesome bands like Coheed & Cambria, I would honestly think that 1994 was one of the last good years for music.

DanR67 couldn't of said it better myself... also Material Issue's, Freak City Soundtrack was a winner as well... The follow up to Phaseshifter, Show World, was supposed to be the release that took made them a household name, but their label decided to give the band Tonic a heavy push... The only reason I can come up with is that it is easier to sign and promote mediocre bands and do that assembly line, one hit wonder thing that was going on back then. Redd Kross, didn't fit that mold, they were and still are to creative to be dull and generic, like dmb and all those shitty jam bands

As a huge fan of RK, seeing this for the first time only makes me wonder even more why they never broke big, or even semi-big. It wasn't for a lack of opportunities: Label deals with Atlantic, RCA/Big Time, and then Mercury, being managed by the same guys as Nirvana, Jeff being married to a Go-Go, Steve getting hitched to a Waronker, and yet nothing. As you can see from this clip, they finally had the whole package circa "Phaseshifter" and yet it literally sold ten copies. Only half-joking when I say there should be a criminal investigation into why this band remains such a well-kept secret outside of L.A. city limits and that it takes people going to see the fucking Melvins and wondering who that kick-ass bass player is for them to discover RK!
