Mr. Brightside was my first thought when I saw the question as well. I've seen that song take out many a good guitar player in a cover band situation (possibly including me, on occasion 😂). I think the two things that always made me tense up a little in my covers band days were singing the high harmony in the chorus of Livin' On A Prayer, in the original key. And for some reason I will never know, I always butchered the end of the guitar solo in Run To Paradise 😬 It became an in-joke in the band, and I always got 'the look' as the moment was approaching, making it a self-fulfilling prophecy 😂

Not just beginners: I had to learn Mr Brightside for a dep gig this year, and my fingers are simply not as flexible as when I was younger. It's arthritis, I assume. So despite having played guitar for decades, I couldn't master that riff, and had to come up with an alternative. As far as I can tell, no one in the audience knew or cared, thankfully.
@atutahi2 күн бұрын
@@1man1guitarletsgo great job adapting! A lot of my older students have to come to grips with the realities of playing guitar with hands that have lived an entire life and it's certainly not easy! But much like yourself there are often ways around these limitations that leave audiences non the wiser
