poi I feel like it needs to be said no DXM is not safe in the manner it's being used here. It's safe at the recommended doses in things like cough syrup and other meds but as a hallucinogen it's still tremendously dangerous and can cause things like one of the posters described, high blood pressure, rapid heartrate and other things that can be equally dangerous. The reason you would hallucinate it because you are overdosing. Edit: I also should add the complications I listed are assuming no underlying health conditions. Those are what can happen to a perfectly healthy adult

No, you're hallucinating because it is an hallucinogen. It's only an overdose if it's a lethal dose.

I mean yeah id say you overdose off dxm when you abuse it, thats kinda the point? i do know that dxm abuse slowly hurts your heart. which sucks. I used to abuse dxm and I can sure say it wasnt worth it. I will now randomly get depersonalization episodes, sometimes i hear voices arguing in my head to where it overwhelms me. I cant imagine what life was like before dxm. I hate it, but its so good. If i were to describe it, its like you're very stoned but at the same time, you're very drunk, and also on some sort of psychedelic. Be very careful with dxm. It *will* hurt you eventually.

@@myles.07 I am of the opinion that an overdose is another phrase for lethal dose. My logic is, people say you can't overdose on LSD, Marijuana, and Ketamin because the lethal dose is so impossible to reach or doesn't exist. A lethal dose for DXM is anything from 1.5 to 3 grams, depending largely on body weight. A lethal dose can be lower than that if the person has heart problems, high blood pressure, or is prone to seizures. It is a terrible drug in most peoples opinion. I have a love hate relationship with it myself. I think in low doses (45mg) it can be and is a great antidepressant I partly used it for that but it is also very addictive at higher doses that I primarily used it at. It got me interested in pharmacology and got me through some dark times in my past. It's also caused me to hear voices and have manic episodes, so I don't encourage it's use but at the same time I am not regretful of using it and am glad I used it over other drugs.

@@myles.07 Not exactly, many hallucinogens have an actual dose that is considered "safe" or typical basically the reason you hallucinate is because that is what the drugs effect is. I have little experience personally but I work in the Pharmaceutical industry and you learn some interesting (and horrifying) stuff. DXM doesn't have that dose in which it is considered safe and also a hallucinogen. You are hallucinating on DXM because your body is literally trying to stay alive

​@myles.07 for me dxm is the best high I've ever felt. Euphoria multitudes greater than mdma that lasted 2 days straight. The high is almost identical to ketamine at the right doses which is my all time favorite drug plus it was a million times cheaper. The visuals are insane but the body load is horrible especially at the end of my dxm era where I wasn't even getting high and could only feel my heart beating way to fast.

Safe is a relative term. Safe means no long term damage, no risk of death, minimal risk of losing control and hurting yourself or someone else. Meth, heroin, etc. All have "Safe" dosages. Abusing these drugs, taking way too high of a dose is considered unsafe. In the case of dxm there hasn't been a single fatality from a dxm overdose alone. People have died from mixing the drug with other ones. But dxm alone will not cause your death.

It's more like you're a soul that pilots the brain which receives signals from the soul and then in turn delivers those signals to the body in a material way using electricity. It's basically just a physical tool for the soul to use. Brain damage impairs you not because you ARE the brain, but because it kind of messes up and distorts the signals given to it by the soul and in turn also makes your body receive distorted signals. It can't actually "ruin" your consciousness but it can ruin the lenses it looks through. Unconsciousness also only happens because your brain is receiving no stimuli but your soul is still inside your brain so it just sees it as darkness. I’ve tried DXM dozens of times. The only time something bad happened I took an absurd amount (4 bottles of 5oz Delsym, or 3552mg dextromethorphan polistirex). If you’re careful and do research you’ll be fine. It’s definitely a spiritual drug. I’ve tried it while being downtown and it made it feel like everything was unfamiliar but also super cozy at the same time. A line of lightbulbs strung up made me feel like I was looking at a row of Christmas ornaments in a cozy snow globe scene. Noise from people around me became looped like I was listening to a recording of gibberish looping the same 5 seconds over and over. I felt the swell and subsiding of noise and ambience like the rise and fall of an ocean. I was floating, and I looked out on others and myself I realized this is how it feels to be an angel, to have no body, to be truly free and constrained by the limits of the physical world. It’s amazing but yeah people should be careful if they try it. Nice video! 💛

I tried dxm for the first time yesterday. My experience was.. weird. I drank a whole 4 Oz bottle of robotussin. And took four 30 MG pills. It hit about an hour and a half after and it was crazy, I didn't hallucinate at all even closed eye but my vision was foggy and blurry walking felt very uncomfortable not hard at all but awkward and it took a good amount of thought to walk. My mind was dumbed down incredibly I felt stupid and forgetful. Does anybody know why I took so much dxm and didn't really see/ hear anything out of the ordinary? I am 160 lbs btw

Try again but follow the plateau per week rule, and do it with weed. Binge tripping is what makes DXM dangerous.

So I am on anti depressants and was taking cold/flu medicine for a sickness I had but it turned out that my anti depressants heightened the effects of dxm and as someone who enjoys exploring my own mind I took some more and that night I think I reached the 3rd plateau, my girlfriend ended up coming over and I kept asking her if she was real or if I was seeing things as I could see but it felt as if I was very drunk. I stared up at the ceiling with my gf on her phone next to me and a long shadowed figure stood leaning above the bed and watching us but I just stared at it I wasn't scared at all. I remember her walking me to the bathroom and hearing voices loudly repeating phrases in my head along with sounds being extremely loud, I am also type 1 diabetic so my sugar dropped but luckily I know my own body well enough and I went to eat and managed to drink some milk and eat a PBJ. I would say the experience was definitely cool and fun to experience but I probably would not do it again as my stomach hurt alot the next day and I could not pee until mid the next day. But overall definitely something pretty cool

I’m also on antidepressants and took a normal cold medicine dose one time because I had a sore throat (maybe a bit more, about a whole medicine cup) and I woke up in the middle of the night, and crawled into the bathroom while being tormented by animals telling me I was gonna die because I didn’t have water, and came down from it partially while chugging water from my sink. Third reason why I’ll never take recreational drugs👍

Honestly it’s kind of sickening you would even suggest it’s fun whatsoever. There are children who stumble upon these videos, and it’s extremely irresponsible for you to even say “you can have a good time” it can cause brain damage permanently. Watch what you put out on the internet. And if anyone who is reading this wants to try it DONT. Take the proper drugs to trip such as LSD, or mushrooms. Be safe, and protect your brain always.

DXM can be safe, It is a proper drug, for some people lsd can bring out schizophrenia and be horrible but that does not make it a bad drug. DXM does not have A lot evidence of neurotoxicity and if used properly it can be safe and fun, not saying it’s good to glamorize it as drugs are different and can always be bad, but it’s still a real drug, the stores i hear are almost always from negligence.
