I'll miss Ray Alder for sure, and as far as a replacement singer, Tum Englund is one of the best choices they could make. It's certainly a great album, but IMO, nothing has topped Snowfall on Judgement Day yet.

sounds like a wild mix between their older albums and 90s Dream Theater. It's a good album. Not as good as "Fullness of Time", "Origins of Ruin" or "Snowfall on Judgement Day", but certainly better than "Art of Loss" and "Mortal Coil. I like it.

Great work , love it but I can't avoid thinking how Ray would have sang songs like ''Impermanent' or ''Indulge in Color'''. These melodic choruses were so much ''written for him'' in my ears! But life goes on! Hope managers make them tour with other bands as a ''prog package'' it's the only way nowadays for successful tours in Europe and the US. Individually they will finish once more to 3-4 prog festival per year and it will be a pity for us...
@anthonytabura63463 жыл бұрын
The bottom line is that Ray left the band in very capable hands Tom England being from Evergrey, a band that was successful in its own right.. Yes, I'm very much so enjoying this album I mean right on time right on redemption keep it up you're all smoking that's for sure good job good job excellent thanks for the art...

this album is a killer, never been fan of Redemption, and even lost interest in Prog Metal/Prog scene recently, but this is a gem, and sound more like DT in some moment than DT itself in last few years! Tom with his voice fits perfectly, yet the music is so much different from Evergrey.
@livgrnfan6 жыл бұрын
Nick van Dyk is one of the most consistently excellent songwriters today. This Redemption album is just as fantastic as all of the others (I'll admit the 2003 debut was unpolished, but I still loved it.) without feeling at all like a retread. On another note, Tom Englund was the perfect man to take Ray Alder's place. That being said, I'm 99% sure Nick wrote these songs with Ray's voice in mind because I could easily imagine Ray singing all of them very similarly to how Tom is singing them here.
