ok, but imagine HOW epic this era was. netizens used to laugh like crazy when SM first announced that they had a plan of debuting the group with the whole fictional storyline, but when 'MAMA' came out everybody was hold on chokehold. everything about this debut is so wholesome and powerful, it's unbelievable

Baek and D.O. were the main vocals for EXO-K while Chen and Luhan were the main and lead vocal for EXO-M. So there was no slack in vocal ability from either unit. The arrangement of the song is the same in both versions, however the vocals are swapped out for the other units vocalists/rappers. Overdose was the last time EXO-K & M had a comeback before Kris and Luhan left, ever since then it has only been EXO as a full group (no more K & M) and then Call Me Baby was the last OT10 comeback before Tao left. Also to note, once Luhan left, D.O. filled in his parts on EXO-M/Chinese versions of their earlier songs when they would perform them.

Thanks for reacting to EXO epic debut. This was actually the first kpop song, that I listened too. I have been hooked ever since. Please check out the lyrics, it has a very deep meaning regarding the way people treat one another. Kai was the one with the tattoos during the dance break. Also the EXOM version is a different video for parts of it, and it focuses mainly on the EXOM members, displaying their superpowers. During the early part of EXO’s career they were split between EXOK for Korean and EXOM for Mandarin. When the three Chinese members left Kris, Luhan, and Tao, they merged the two groups together and became just EXO. As far as the subunits EXO CBX and EXO SC, they are comprised of Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin for the vocal subunit , with Sehun and CHANYEOL making up the rap subunit. Happy 11th Anniversary EXO!! Thanks for your reaction guys! Exo K consisted of D.O, Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Kai, Sehun and Suho, and Exo M by Chen, Xiumin (Korean members) and Lay, Luhan, Tao, and Kris (Chinese members). Currently the group consists of 9 members (all Korean members and Lay, because although he announced his separation from the company, he has not indicated his official separation from the group). On the other hand, the boys began going to military service in 2018, that's why in Obsession there are only 6 members, because D.O and Xiumin were in military service and Lay could not promote with them, the album Don't Figth The Feeling, is a special album that they released for the fans, in this album D.O and Xiumin finished their military service and we also had Lay although he signed the video clip from China, he also participated in the other songs of the album, in this album we had 7 members, because Chen and Suho were already in their military service, they filmed the MV and Chanyeol was the next in leaving, so this album did not have presentations in television programs or concerts; then it was his turn to go to Baekhyun; Chanyeol returned at the end of last year and Baekhyun at the beginning of the year, so right now we have everyone out to release the next album, which we hope Lay will be included. We will not know if there will be upcoming concerts with the whole group, because our maknae's who are Kai and Sehun are missing to go to military service (they are the last ones who need to fulfill the service). Thank you for reacting to EXO! This is my die-hard group and I will love them forever! I highly-recommend checking out the lyrics to MAMA. As they are very deep and still provide sense of relevancy towards technology and empathy in this day in age. To add to your discussion about the possible noose at the end of the video. I would like to offer up a few points. First, K-pop groups are always going to be marketed towards the Korean audience first and are managed by a mostly all Korean management team, foreign employees or collaborations are usually limited to the musical production side of the company. Therefore, the knowledge of cultural controversies will be limited to the individual knowledge of these Korean employees. As stated in the video, you guys mentioned some Asian controversies such as the rising sun of Japan and things that might run foul with China's censorship which will certainly be on their minds since EXO at the beginning was very carefully market to the Chinese audience and with later success to the Japanese audience(but were then had another Japanese management team in this case). The international market was very low on their list of priorities with this group and as such any possible racial undertones are then coincidental. This can be said of other groups as will as EXO. That doesn't mean SM wasn't interested in the foreign western market, it just means less resources are allocated to push for foreign audience with this group. So the use of it is more likely simply and interesting accessory seen on Rock stars or other "punk" fashion models that the stylists saw in the office or in a store and thought it would fit the concept. This is where most western fans misunderstand when they perceive to see something "racial" in a video. Now that doesn't make it right if, for example, a racial item such as a KKK T-shirt or something is used, and international fans have the right to complain if it does. It just means that most of the time, different items, styles, and symbols are going to mean different things based on personal and cultural backgrounds and as such a Korean company mainly focused on creating Korean music for a Korean audience, those things will either have the Korean significance or no significance at all. So any music videos you see now or in the future, it is best to keep an open mind and use such moments to educate your viewers of different cultural backgrounds on how such things may be offensive or be perceived to you.
