I think that I like the idea that Nahida wearing oversized dresses implies that her captors never bothered to get clothing for her that would actually fit, when her things aren't her mother's/sister's secondhand clothes - that they either misjudged her size because they never bothered to even look at her, or they got her clothing sized for an older child or even teenager for her to 'grow into' because they couldn't be bothered to get her properly fitting clothing. After all, it's not like they intended for anyone to ever *see* Nahida to realise she was being mistreated and neglected
