I've been on these MTs for a year and a few thousand miles @ 700rwhp. At 3:00 shows one thing i hate...no rimguard at all. The wheel lip sticks out beyond the tire. Then under throttle the squishy sway back and forth i do not like. This tire just feels unsafe...keeping in mind i've spent many a'mile on 15" slicks, DRs, etc. So now i'm looking for what to replace the MT with.

Great video comparison! Only issue I see is how many miles can you get out of them. I've heard some stories of people having to buy new tires every 6k miles, WOW! My 816whp HC is my daily driver, so I can NOT justify having to buy new tires every 6,000 miles. BUT, will definitely be looking at the Mickey's for my drag wheel setup, and when I want to go to "mexico". I'm currently on the Continental Extreme Contacts, 315's in rear, 275 front, and they have great wear life, but can't hook AT ALL! Hoping to find a good medium between long lasting and good hook for my daily driving tire. Still researching.

I hate to tell you this but with anything above around 800whp, you're not gonna find a high mileage tire thats gonna grip as good. It's like you move the bar either way - more traction / less mileage or less traction / more mileage...

The only thing stopping me from pulling the trigger on either tire is that I’m worried about increased strain on the differential. For now that’s weak point in these cars and I’m personally not in any position to break mine and not have a warranty back it up. Any idea if either the MT or Toyos will lead to broken diff if launched on either a prepped or unprepared surface?

Those fire hawk Indy 500’s are really good tires especially for the price. I have a FBO 2021 mustang gt and they hook from a dig with advanced trac off. I’m actually supercharging it hopefully next month have to wait a couple more weeks for it to come in

60ft and drag strip the MT is much much better. Anything over 700whp MT is better as well. R888R is a great tire. After I did the pulley and E85 I coudn't hook at all with the R888R & 900whp. MT dead hooked on the street in 35 degrees. I did a video on it with a fellow redeye owner.

A note for people looking to buy tires....Toyo R888R is a tire designed for road racing that can be driven on the street...Mickey Thompson ET street SS is a drag radial that can be driven on the street. These tire have 2 different intended purposes.

I just got off of the phone with Tire Rack and they said that they won’t sell me these tires if I’m going to be using them on the street. Track only. 315/35/R17 is one of the most common street car tire there is. Nitto, M/T, Toyo among others all make many style tires in that size. Many places to buy them other than tire rack also and just bring them somewhere to get mounted.

Man that's crazy you could only get 5.5 on stock tires. You must have just been shreading them to pieces haha. I think the stock hellcat tires should come stock on the 5.7 R/Ts. That's what I have on my R/T now which is pretty stock other then intake and mid muffler delete and my fastest 0to60 so far is a 4.9 on the street. Dodge defiently underates their tires with their cars. Good video though bro I'm sure either tire would get you down to 3.2 easy at the track. Love it... one of these days I'll hopefully be experiencing a supercharged beast but the wait is killing me I want to play now lol.... instant gratification dammit! Keep it up love the vids.

But, you didn't go any quicker with the Mickey's. In fact you went slower. So many of these young guys with channels don't understand racing. Not knocking them, they just don't have the experience yet. You actually need a little tire slip to go the fastest. The tire slip helps the rpm get up in the power band to run the best. You could put lower gears in it to offset the extra grip. You definitely do want a very small amount of slip. Too much grip will result in less et and mph.

Try going to a drag strip and launching 1000hp with R888R tires. It’s also quieter then the R888R. I love the toyos for the street and under a certain power. The street R MT are the best and allowed me to dead hook on the street too. 💪🏻

Mt ss after 120 mph you will not have control of the car, at high speed it is garbage, from 0 to 100 the mt ss is very good

Nah I don’t try anything...I am myself. I don’t try to be anyone else or be fake. Another thing I don’t do is buy cars solely for views. That’s money mongering, I am a true car guy that buys cars that I want not just purely for views. Hence why I changed my C8 order for a GT350 last minute. I WANTED a GT350.
