MY salad rig i bought from Brandon coin with a 12 core zeon and 64 gb ram W/ cooler and cpu. (230 bucks) added a wd 1tb m2 for a walmart price of 64 bucks so 300 bucks! so i added my psu and gpu) . i put my evga 3070 and set it to get ony Adult Content jobs and makes about $1.50 to $1.80 a day.

Dude, it was great for YOU because you got a referral bonus for everyone that signed up for with your link. EVERYONE else got crap. Litterally days of zero usage from a 2080, 3060, 3080, and a 4090. Is it profitable? Sure, as long as the containers aren't mining containers (which many of them were). AI / processing containers were fairly low power, but when you get a mining container (NOT mining enabled), its a different story. 4090 running 400+ watts @ 97% usage for $5 a day. That math don't math. The 4 PCs (above) took 3 weeks of constant running to make $10. That doesnt even cover the cost of power at IDLE, let alone when the 4090 is blasting away. I feel especially bad for the older users of salad. The influx of users must've killed them.

Go to configure hardware / Advance options and disable crypto mining.

You need to disable the mining. It’s only worth it for the AI/ML containers.

I think when he is talking about mining containers its not about disable mining feature. It is actually someone renting your pc for mining, see mining kings vid when he tracked his rented pc's activities. It was both running cpu and gpu mining. Yes ai workloads usually is pretty low power. But most of the time in salad the gpu is 100 so probably someone mining even if mining feature is off.

FYI don't listen to the people (everyone) that say 8gb cards are not gonna work. I've got 2 x 3070 8GBs both got jobs and my 6GB 1660 super used to pick up the odd container here and there. Just use what you got!

salad will work on anything. anything at all. i started using my pc for gaming again and i put my old lenovo legion 5 laptop with 16gb ram and a gtx1660ti 6gb intel core i5 11300h to work. been running for 8 months straight without a break and it is making between $1 to $1.50 depending on container jobs. i did not think it would work at all but it's chugging along like a champ. the key to it working is a nice overclock with stable temps

I started doing salad after your first video. My gpus had been sitting collecting dust for a long time so I was happy to give it a shot. As long as you have the proper settings in salad the power usage is pretty low. The 4070tis will make $6 per day if and when it has a container. I’d like to get one but $800 right now is a bit outside my budget. I currently have 3x 4070 12 gb and 1x 4060 ti 16 gb gpus. All have 64 gb ram, 1 tb nvme and 16-20 thread cpus. I have 300/300 fiber as well. I find I can count on 2 rigs holding jobs on average throughout the day while 2 calculate. Rarely are all 4 rigs jobless but it’s just as rare they all have jobs at once. I spend a lot of time on salads discord, they have an active community and some mods are quite helpful when I had questions on cpu/thread questions. I’ve earned about $190 in the last 30 days and power was $45 or so. Long roi but still better than collecting dust 😊

I have 2 3090 with 64 gm ram and 2 ryser 5950x and I don't get more than 2 dollars per day, on top of that Salad takes 10 percent off the payment, plus what it costs you to collect your money in Pay Pal!! I gave up on salad because my 4090 with 64gb wouldn't pick up any jobs for days on end and when it did get a job it would only last an hour. I followed your tutorial video exactly. I'm guessing there's just too many users and the veteran users get priority.

Don't build a PC for SALAD. First of all you need to have 64GB RAM, then you need a GPU minimum RTX 3060 to find a container, oldest GPUs have low demand and little earnings. If you have a NVIDIA 30 series the demand it's on 3060 and 3060ti, maybe 3090, the problem with 3070 and 3080 it's SALAD pay the same as 3060 or 3060ti. About NVIDIA 40 series, the demand it's on 4070, 4080 and 4090. The 4060 and 4060ti in this moment have lower demand and little earnings. That's my experience on SALAD and I don't recommended to anybody because the earning and the software are not stable, they change the version every 15 days and it sucks.

I can agree with this. Jobs are not stable either. Containers will drop left and right. I went from making 14$ daily last week. to 4$ now after their "update". Truly fantastic. ALSO no one is talking about the 30% they take off the top of what you could earn. SO. Salad does not have a realistic ROI.

I've heard from youtube videos that an 8 core cpu is best for Salad. Does anyone KNOW if a Ryzen 2700x would be good enough to get you in "top tier" with 64gb ram & 4090 for Salad? Those cpu's are pretty cheap now. (I have Ryzen 3600's 6 cores in most of my pc's)

the 3060 ti dont work you need 12gb of ram on your gpu.

SALAD only use 1 GPU per motherboard and you need minimum 32GB of RAM but to find a good container you need 64GB per mobo, so you need 2 mobos and 2 cpus. But I think you could mine some crypto with your cpu at the same time you're running SALAD.

@@Zero_ko01 That’s the reason I’ve asked… With type 1 virtualization, the VM has everything of a computer within the computer, so the vm is it’s own computer on the host, adding the boundaries where it’s needed so both VMs with 8 CPUs core, 64 gigs of ram, a passthrough GPU and finally storage. The beauty of that is that the VMs doesn’t know it is a virtual machine on the hypervisor Sometimes Nested virtualization isn’t that good on performance but as it’s containers and not VMs on top of VMs it could work fine and so saving you the need for 2 cpus, 2 motherboard, 2 PSUs, etc.
