I discovered this some months ago and then saw a shorter version only 5 minutes long a lot of write-ups about it. Reading other people's comments in that other site it sounds like they were saying that it was done by the Grateful Dead. But this is of course actually just the four Beatles. So its loved by so many, and such a classic rendition, that it will probably be edited in by Peter Jackson to the new Get Back documentary series re-release this late Summer, or into Autumn 2021. It should be the outgoing trailer music at the end of the series. That beautiful melodic style by George Harrison starts at about 4: 24 on the time bar. Those others have mentioned that it reminds them of a version of the instrumental track, Flying, on the Magical Mystery Tour. Which always had me wondering if the guitar work in that track was influenced from Fleetwood Mac's early sounds such as their famous number, Albatross. But there are also definite inflections here of Jerry Garcia's style and the Grateful Dead. It's almost like a mix-mash of the Grateful Dead's Truckin', turned almost to a slow Waltz it's in the long improvised form of Dark Star. Its long improvisational style also reminds me of the Dead's Dark Star. Local OPB radio in Portland Oregon played 51 versions of it, blended together on the end of the day that Jerry Garcia passed away. So this could possibly be renamed with all of its seemingly beautiful influences - The Palace of the King of the Birds From Jerry's Distant Dark Star Truckin' In On a Broken Albatross Bird's Wings. Can you dig it? Imagine if this could be redone live today. And who would they get to reassemble and do it? Definitely Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr would be there. You could ask Phil Lesh to play the bass. Dahni Harrison could play the lead slide style guitar. McCartney duplicating the Organ keys. And another few other key musicians could add into the contribution. Maybe even Yoko or Donna Godchaux could give a distant harmonic wailing vocal in the background for the outgoing verse...

The more I watch on KZbin other bands that operated in the mid to late 60's, the more I’m getting convinced that, it was impossible for the Beatles to keep their top spot in the music world, had they not broken up. There simply started to show up more and more very good music producers around. Many of them, however, owe their creation, creativity and success to the Fab 4.
