Hi Red Hot Chili Peppers, not sure if you'll ever see this... But the third person interviewed, the long haired guy with the white tank top that said "i dont have a dream of being star, I just like being me" actually just passed away a couple days ago. Someone posted this video on his facebook page and i think its so awesome that you included him in this video. It was great to have seen him acting just as he always has but on a format that will be saved for ever. Thank you

@andrew bishop Yeah, they should just become youtubers. Hollywood is dying and LA is a third world country now with all the homeless camps, crime, and a communist government to boot. Within the next few years Hollywood will be dead, and youtube will have replaced it. Not that youtube is any better, as its run by Gulagle and they're cultural marxists just like the Hollywood creeps are. Now that youtube censors everything and is trying to replace TV by bringing worthless Hollywood celebrities in, hopefully alt tech competitors like Odysee and Bitchute will kill off youtube and maybe the internet could be a freer place like it used to be in the nineties and 2000s.

Tom Petty once told a young musician that you don't come to LA to be successful. If you want to make it, you come there, already being successful. He told him to go back home, work on his stuff and then return when he's ready. The young musician was Warren Zanes who was a member of the band the Del Fuegos who had a nice buzz in the 80s. He ended up leaving the band and obtained a PhD and became a professor. Later in life, he met Tom Petty again and helped him to write his autobiography. He was also became the vice president of education at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. It's an interesting turn of events and I guess the point is, being a rock star may not be for everyone but you can still find a light in this world.

I dont think many people understand the genius of this video. Multiple reshoots. Different wannabe stars at different points in the song. Multiple playthroughs to choreograph each person at the right point in the song. This was RHCP giving back and giving hope to all the folks who wanted to "make it" in the music industry. Thing about the patience of a human being then go through the same song 12,000 times with the same hype and motivation each time to make it special for each "wannabe" in their music video. That takes love, admiration and respect.

This song so encapsulated my youngest brother. He tried so hard to make it as a guitar player in a rock and roll outfit. I remember this song coming out my senior year of high school, and how I knew what the words "really meant" but he would not hear me , he moved to Nashville and then L.A., and he never found a bite. In 2013 we get a call asking to identify his body, he had shot himself. I want to say that I love the peppers for all the encouragement they inspired in my brother, and wished that they were not so clairvoyant as to how it goes for those that just can't make it. I thank you guys for trying as you can to hold the entertainment industry's feet to the fire for those that fall prey to it's allure and macinations.

People listening to great songs deserve their lyrics They come from every state to find Some dreams were meant to be declined Tell the man what did you have in mind What have you come to do? No turning water into wine No learning while you're in the line I'll take you to the broken sign You see these lights are blue Come and get it Lost it at the city limit Say goodbye 'Cause they will find a way to trim it Everybody Lookin' for a silly gimmick Gotta get away Can't take it for another minute This town is made of many things Just look at what the current brings So high, it's only promising This place was made on you Tell me, baby, what's your story Where you come from And where you wanna go this time? Tell me, lover, are you lonely? The thing we need is Never all that hard to find Tell me, baby, what's your story Where do you come from And where you wanna go this time? You're so lovely, are you lonely? Giving up on the innocence you left behind Some claim to have the fortitude Too shrewd to blow the interlude Sustaining pain to set a mood Step out to be renewed I'll move you like a baritone Jungle brothers on the microphone Getting over with an undertone It's time to turn to stone Chitty chitty, baby When your nose is in the nitty gritty Life could be a little sweet But life could be a little shitty What a pity Boston and a Kansas city Looking for a hundred But you only ever found a fitty Three fingers in the honeycomb You ring just like a xylophone Devoted to the chromosome The day that you left home Tell me, baby, what's your story Where you come from And where you wanna go this time? Tell me, lover, are you lonely? The thing we need is Never all that hard to find Tell me, baby, what's your story Where you come from And where you wanna go this time? [Verse 1] They come from every state to find Some dreams were meant to be declined Tell the man what did you have in mind What have you come to do? No turning water into wine No learning while you're in the line I'll take you to the broken sign You see these lights are blue Come and get it, lost it at the city limit Say goodbye, cause they will find a way to trip it Everybody's looking for a silly gimmick Got to get away can't take it for another minute This town is made of many things Just look at what the current brings So high it's almost promising This place was made on you [Chorus] Tell me baby what's your story? Where you come from and where you want to go this time, oh Tell me, lover are you lonely? The thing we need is never all that hard to find, oh Tell me baby what's your story Where do you come from and where you want to go this time, oh You're so lovely are you lonely? Giving up on the innocence you left behind [Verse 2] Some claim to have the fortitude Too shrewd to blow the interlude Sustaining pain to set the mood Step out to be renewed I'll move you like a baritone Jungle brother's on the microphone Getting over with the undertone It's time to turn to stone Chitty chitty baby when your nose is in the nitty gritty Life can be a little sweet but life can be a little shitty What a pity Boston and a Kansas City Looking for a hundred but you only ever found a fifty Three fingers in the honeycomb You ring just like a xylophone Devoted to the chromosome The day that you left home [Chorus] Tell me baby what's your story? Where you come from and where you want to go this time, oh Tell me, lover are you lonely? The thing we need is never all that hard to find, oh Tell me baby what's your story Where do you come from and where you want to go this time, oh You're so lovely are you lonely? Giving up on the innocence you left behind behind [Guitar Solo] [Chorus] Tell me baby what's your story? Where you come from and where you want to go this time, oh Tell me, lover are you lonely? The thing we need is never all that hard to find, oh Tell me baby what's your story Where do you come from and where you want to go this time, oh You're so lovely are you lonely? Giving up on the innocence you left behind

Everytime I listen to music on KZbin and this song comes up I just need to watch the video, and I have watched it so many times it's funny but I just can't look away. So I stop whatever I do at the time and stare at the music video. It is the best video they've made, at least to me. So honest and funny, so spontaneous. I absolutely adore it. Well said Dora. It is so honest and funny, and so spontaneous. I just love watching the video too, so wild and free and full of life. Just a bunch of very diverse people coming together, being happy and having fun. It's such a fantastic and positive message for telling people to love and welcome each other with open arms, and the chilis do it so well. Just about every type of person is present - men, women, blacks, whites, Hispanics, Asians, etc. Older people, younger people, everybody is included. Love the horseplay between AK and Flea towards the end, such fun guys lol xx

Richardsen Damn! I'm glad you finally found that song lol. Slash's solos are so melodically chill for that song, I love it! I was listening to it yesterday actually :) Reminds me a bit like David Gilmore's style... Slash offered so much old school classic rock, to a younger generation of listeners, I really can't say enough great things about him. He's just a high quality guitar player all around.
