Very interesting ! Too bad the music( while nice) is very distracting. One or the other would be better. I had to mute it and read the caption. I can't wait to go back to Winchester and discover all that I haven't yet. Thank you!!

Loving the video girls! The only thing i wished you’d talk about as well would be Alfred The Great’s ( and the kings before him) royal palace! I know that the writer of The Last Kingdom series states in his book that there’s evidence to proove that Alfred might’ve stayed in a old Roman Villa/Palace in the center of Winchester. This is supported by the the Roman city walls in stone that still stand today, and also many different records from books describing that Alfred’s estate matched those of stone-palaces on mainland southern europe. Considering most if not all stone-buildings the Anglo Saxons built were only churches at the time, it’s theorized that his palace must’ve been one the Romans left behind.

Hello. An interesting and informative video - and you clearly know and understand the Saxon/Medieval history of Winchester. As a ( retired ) Medieval Historian - Oxford, I have often visited in the past - mostly to spend some time in the Winchester Cathedral library, amongst it`s fine manuscript collection. As others have commented on I see, the imbalance between the spoken commentary and the musical soundtrack marred what would have otherwise been a splendid effort - pity !!! Nevertheless, well done - a good introduction to Winchesters important historical heritage - bravo :)

V interesting, but why does the music swell to deafening between each section of commentary? Really spoils it.

Interesting, but be sure to slow down when you speak. Sometimes you did, and then you can tell how better it sounds.

Anyone know the track that starts around 2:43. I’ve been looking for it for ages and it’s not any of the tracks listed in the description.

I think that is walking through part of The Cathedral grounds ..

@@hugoskucek I was enquiring as to the name of the music track not where they were in the video. I studied at Winchester so I know the area well.

Winchester has been found by Belgian Celts.
@bpinkhof4 жыл бұрын
yes@FonkyHonky, Belgian Celts from what is now North France the coast of Flanders and a little bit below but before the Franks came to Belgium. Pre Celtic Period, second wave and a third wave. Those Belgian Celts are responsable for the P Celtic languages. Q Celtic languages came from Gaul. The West-Germanic Franks came from from the North-East of the Netherlands to Belgium for the rich and heavy farm lands and mixed with the Belgian Celts. There is 9 procent Belgian Celtic DNA in the old Belgian Celtic settlments in Britain and 40 procent in Flanders. In the south of Belgium lived Alpino Belgian Celts before the Romans came. Other kind of Belgian Celts.

@@bpinkhof I used to be a big follower of all things Celt! No more now! Once I learnt that God is truth and once I found the SSPX, there is no looking back. Also, learning that all heathen/pagan/non Jewish nations/empires practice child sacrifice (today in this current anti-God age it is called abortion/woman's rights) and that only the Jews did not believe in child sacrifice, I learnt that the truth is God and that Our Blessed Lord is the Way, the Truth and the Life. All I can say here is that I hope you one day soon also learn this for the sake of your eternal soul. I am an unworthy sinner who repents of my sins and asks for God's mercy. Amen

According to the special theory of relativity, energy and matter do not disappear, but matter can become energy and vice versa in a closed system. Why then disappear consciousness. Gravitational waves can already be visualized. The consciousness of our universe that some call the matrix could be the Holy Spirit.
