I'd like to see inside, I think the 8 track also had an issue as it was playing multiple tracks at teh same time. I wonder if the head mount has failed? I'd be surprised if that turntable has a preamp and is not just aceramic cartridge running at line level. You could tidy up the modification by installing a DPDT switch on the back with some RCA connectors to switch between phono and line, or add a cheap Bluetooth board and put it back into use. Do you have the original speakers?

Those are all great points! I trashed the speakers years ago: each was a single small speaker - 5 inches, maybe - in a little box with a grill. Anyway, although this video isn't getting much traction, I'll probably make a follow-up where I open it up and decide what to do with it. Thanks for the encouragement!

@@SomeDisassemblyRequired Despite what the trend for 'reels' and 'shorts' would have you believe, the more long form content you have the more traction you will get. Keep up the great work.
