This was some GENIUS portrayal of being in an abusive relationship. The fact that the boyfriend wasn’t shown literally, only the things that he was throwing. It’s a nod to how BLIND abusive relationships can be, and how despite her pain, she doesn’t RECOGNIZE that he’s the issue! Just like most of society, she is ALSO blind to his abuse due to caring for him. This is fucking PHENOMENAL! (Performing this as my final senior solo for the end of year concert with my band. This is gonna EXPLODE.)

+Crystal Jones - It's not easy, especially when you try to make excuses for the other person ("he didn't mean it" or "he was drunk" or "he apologized and I know he loves me"). It's even worse when you feel like that person needs you and if you walk away, then you're not being supportive or honoring your vows. It's even harder for people who are co-dependent, or financially rely on an abuser and feel there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Glad you were able to finally find some happiness, and yes folks, sometimes being alone may take some adjustment, but I promise it's much better than being at the receiving end of abuse. Being alone is better than being with the wrong one. As Marilyn Monroe said, "It's better to be unhappy alone than unhappy with someone..."

Face down in the dirt She said "This doesn't hurt!" She said "I finally had enough!" One day she will tell you that she has had enough It's coming round again Do you feel like a man When you push her around? Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground? Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Do you feel like a man When you push her around? Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground? Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Face down in the dirt She said "This doesn't hurt!" She said "I finally had enough!"

Well, I'll tell you, my friend, one day this world's gonna end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect Every action in this world will bear a consequence If you wade around forever, you will surely drown I see what's going down I see the way you go and say you're right again Say you're right again Heed my lecture Do you feel like a man when you push her around? I only left because I was afraid as my son got older that he would hit him as well because my son is autistic.

This song holds special meaning in my life, there is no room in this world for boys who hit women, or girls who hit men for that matter. To those guys who feel that is ok, there will be judgment for you, karma is unforgiving and so are guys like me. You will get what's coming to you one way or another. I pray that women in these kinds of situations see this. You do not have to take it, it is not your fault, he doesnt love you, he does NOT have any power over you and you can leave. There are places to go, people to run to, I beg you not to put up with it. There are good men out here, they will protect you, and help you get back on your feet. You are strong and you can live without that.

Hey girl you know you drive me crazy One look puts the rhythm in my hand Still I'll never understand why you hang around I see what's going down Cover up with make up in the mirror Tell yourself it's never gonna happen again You cry alone and then he swears he loves you Do you feel like a man When you push her around? Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground? Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found A pebble in the water makes a ripple effect Every action in this world will bear a consequence If you wait around forever you will surely drown I see what's going down I see the way you go and say you're right again Say you're right again Heed my lecture Do you feel like a man When you push her around? Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground? Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Face down in the dirt She said "This doesn't hurt!" She said "I finally had enough!" Face down in the dirt She said "This doesn't hurt!" She said "I finally had enough!" One day she will tell you that she has had enough It's coming round again Do you feel like a man When you push her around? Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground? Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Do you feel like a man When you push her around? Do you feel better now, as she falls to the ground? Well I'll tell you my friend, one day this world's got to end As your lies crumble down, a new life she has found Face down in the dirt She said "This doesn't hurt!" She said "I finally had enough!"

This song helped me sooo much. When it came out I'd already been going through mental & physical abuse for several years. It helped me get my "anger" & I finally started to fight my way out.
