Back when Toronto was funky. This was the AUTHENTIC Toronto sound - boom bap, NY influenced, but with the Caribbean slang and vibe thrown in to make it uniquely Toronto. Similar to what Bootcamp was doing with the patois on Enta Da Stage. Very similar vibes. You just feel that cold winter, cypher vibe, smoking a blunt in Rexdale, Scarborough, Jungle, Jane and Finch etc. Ghetto Concept, Sauks, Marvel, FOS, Wio K, Grassroots, Elemental etc. All of that. Toronto had that Golden Era Boom Bap vibe but with the Toronto spin to it. Glad to have experienced it.
