I just like the selfie camera being non existent. Ive always hates the dot and notch and would love to utilive the full screen. Camera has literally no importance for me however I wish it was the more flagship phones that had it and not this one phone.

@@brendonmcmillan5589 I don't want to offend you in any way. my Asus will be 4 years old in June, it still works great, I only replaced the batteries for my own comfort. it was a flagship at launch and is still better than most new midrangers. i used to change phones literally every six months through iphone/samsung/xiaomi.. since I stayed with the asus for so long, I guess that means something.

Probably my favorite review from a neutral perspective of the new Redmagic 8 Pro. For the price unless you're a gamer wanting to experiment with many different games it's not worth the investment. However. If emulation is your thing. The Redmagic phones in general are excellent at emulator stuff.

@@badrsaaidi8108 throttle. Redmagic is consistent. I can't speak about the new Samsung S23 Ultra but consistency is proven true with the newer era Redmagic smartphones. The entire 7 Series and 8 series in particular.

It's at a really good price. I got it for like 640 or something on their website. It's pretty much the same price as their 7s pro currently but with an upgraded processor and I think the GPU is better too.

Gaming isn't all about candy crush or other games that don't stress the SoC at all, this is in fact a great emulation phone to be used as a handheld for example (only missing the micro sd slot, other than that, can't complain much), which would be my primary reason for purchasing it.

Very excited about this phone, think it looks great, love the new design, love the completely full screen, and awesome battery life and fast charging, not too mention its only $650 USD for top of the line specs, I don't care about the gaming part, it's just a great bonus for no added cost, it's extra features and when was that a bad thing? Also don't understand how people are so picky about the camera, no one actually cares if your pictures of food look slightly sharper, 50MP is still so much better then what was around 5-10 years ago in the mainstream

@@hasannawaz228 ya because simple people pay more for brands, with the exception of the camera and waterproofing this is much better then the s23 ultra in every other way, better performance, bigger battery, faster charging, in-display camera, capacitive triggers vs. no such feature, much faster charging, imo a better design, but their phone says Samsung so you gotta pay more

I just put in an order for one of these as I need a new phone, mines 3 years old now, batteries getting a bit limp. Still waiting for the Sony Xperia Pro 2 through, whenever it comes out. I'll keep this in reserve for gaming/entertainment, and the Sony will eventually be my next daily. My Samsung S20 Ultra I currently have will be my last, not really fond of where their phones are going. It was almost a toss up for me between this and Asus. This happened to be on sale and in a bundle, so I figured what the heck, I'll give it a go. Now just to hope it'll work alright on Verizon. I live in the USA, and I'm a long haul trucker.

I have been looking for everywhere to find out whether that red slider button could be reprogrammed to have other functions from the gaming specific original one, it's a huge bummer that it can't be. How could Nubia miss an opportunity like that? I am not a gamer, I never play on my phone, so I am considering this mobile as a non-gamer phone for myself. But that red button that would be completely useless for me is really bugging me. I really like physical buttons, but for the love of God if someone manages to put one on the phone, at least make it reprogrammable to have other functions.

@@chathurawimalaratne8560 I want a phone that has huge battery, headphone jack, new soc with very high efficiency (mainly for battery life) and a really big screen. Pixel ticks none of these boxes, and has one of the worst efficiency with its tensor soc amongst current phones. But I am open for other suggestions, if there are other phones that would have these features. Also cut out notches on screen or cut out hole is a huge eye sore for me, but this one could be negotiable if all other mentioned specs are there.

I have had it for about 4 months and no issues. It gets a little warm but the game play is amazing and no crashing no glitches nothing. It works great. I'm lucky that I have a working gaming phone and let me tell you game mode is amazing!

It's not like by not focusing on bezels and punch holes you are magically going to achieve great battery life. Qualcomm is already trying it's best by making an more efficient architecture every generation, and batteries are larger and larger every year. If the software your phone runs sucks, there is little the phone maker can do I'm afraid. But at least they can make a more sleek looking phone with less bezels and no punch hole!

Well it a gaming phone so not having a good camera is within my expectation cause it for gaming. The frame rate is pretty stable using this device and u can compare it with other good camera devices like samsung s22 or iPhone 13-14 the frame rate will not be as stable as this red magic 8 pro in long session of gaming.

Nokia n gage was a gaming smartphone with a special keyboard for gamers. Modern smartphones 'for gamers' do not have a real features for gamers... Maybe they should add something like gameing pad frame to the phone, so you can put on phone to this frame and play like on switch or steam deck... But anyway, the mobile games library isn't exciting. Depends of the personal needs of course...

I think the biggest problem with these phones is the fact that they only offer about a year of software support. If they're trying to market it as effectively a mobile gaming PC, they need to treat it as such. Computers need software support and so do mobile phones.

the matte version of the redmagic 8 pro has a fairly subtle look imo, especially by gaming phone standards you could just get a case that completely hides the design as for gaming laptops, the HP victus looks relatively clean, it's the one i've got
