Love the new "A Friendly Chat" format. This is what makes Eurorack special - there are often real faces and not big companies behind these amazing products. Great interview, thanks a lot!

Fully agree on how cool it would be to be able to transpose with a knob in eurorack! Exciting stuff

So I meet Mathias at Superbooth and tried the faders. Very cool. And I actually ordered a DROID Master. While waiting for it I started to configure my patch on it already. It’s not very hard and the Discord community is very helpful. I hope the module arrives in some days. I’m curious what Jeremy makes with them. A follow up video would be nice.

Danke dir auch Matthis für diesen grossartigen interview. Ich habe noch keinen Sinfonion, aber ich werde bald eines haben. Ich zähle bis dahin die Sekunden!!

I wasn’t looking at the screen when this started, thought that Jeremy was interviewing himself doing an accent. Y’all’s voices are crazy close.

Jeramy great stream, Mathias so interesting, from another Universe as it’s all alien to me as a 68 yr old novice to Modular but evolution of Modular that I won’t see but hey Ho You mentioned Mylar(Alex) about Stevie O he is an artist in his own right and has been doing Jazz on Eurorack for years like Colin Bender I’m inspired by all this but at same time makes me feel like returning to playing the Spoons😄thanks Jeramy for these update insights👍👍🆒🆒🇬🇧🌟

Oh man the MotoFader Module is just crazy nice!! I've been dreaming about a sequencer using those for quite some time and even did research how it would be possible to build a module like this, but came to the conclusion it was basically not possible. Seems like I was very wrong..
@swampflux3 жыл бұрын
I was working on a module with motorized fader and had the same virtual notch idea. I ran into the same power supply problems-my whole rack would brown out whenever just one fader would move. Later on I realized I needed capacitors and haven't gotten around prototyping it yet. I figured someone else would figure it out and get to market before me but that's totally okay. I'm happy I'm not the only one that thought it was worth persuing!

Yeah! Forcing Jazz into modular. Something that I’ve been looking for for a long time. Ah, and the M4, that will be another game changer. The Droid ecosystem is BIG

Ahh. I dove deeper. It does look like it does vertical transposition within a mode. But has a fixed set of scales? And no melodic minor? .. maybe it can be added? Or flexible scales (make your own, then it creates tertiary harmony out of them)? This does look like it does my use case, but lacks scales I use a lot.

Motorized faders is TOTALLY rad. Typical German thinking ;-) AND haptic too, holy crap. I bet other manufacturers look at him like "dude, you know you are killing us by raising the bar?" I'm gonna say that Mathias has a SpaceX (Elon) mentality. He sees a road block and removes it. Where others might say that is too hard or too expensive to solve. I hope the market doesn't crush him, or "cheap" him out of business. We need more like him.

You should take a look at what Mathias built previously (Check_MK aka Checkmk). He basically built an industry-leading IT monitoring solution

I'd buy Droid instantly if I could *code* it rather than script it. It has the hardware I need. But I need much finer control. I'll buy it regardless I'm sure. I'd just jump today if I could code it. Both these when I dive hard into the manual, seem to address transposition of modes and selection of modes, but not selection *via transposition inside the mode*? Mathias having jazz chops, he must grok the distinction? Can this thing do "ii V I" in C .. just by feeding it the root voltages, and *not needing to inform it that ii is minor, V is dominant, etc? that falls out of the mode* .. then do this in say, melodic minor and get Lydian dominant there, implicitly? Afaik no euro module does that. I had hoped Sinfonian does, but diving hard in the manual, it seem you'd need to tell it "ii" is dorian, and tell it "V" is Mixolydian or Lydian Augmented, manually, while switching the root?

It seems to me that the USB module is essential to make this system really useful.
