Thank you. I had fun coming up with it. The video of their first adventure is on my channel and I’m hoping to upload their second outing shortly. Thanks for watching.

Look on the bright side, if this party gets tpk'ed then you can have fun coming up with new characters and backgrounds. This reminds me a lot of the original little black books for the Traveller RPG, where lots of the fun was generating characters, worlds, systems, and starships. You likely know more than Zak about the DC universe too.

Creating characters is something I always really enjoy. Even with games like Advanced Heroquest, I used to enjoy rolling up the stats and trying to figure out how to efficiently use what I got. I really think my conjurors are in for a rough time, but we shall see.

I played with the Traveller creator Mark Miller at Gary Con. His session was called "Can You Survive Character Creation?!" I played the original quite a bit back in the late 70s and early 80s and can say: It's not as dangerous as it used to be.

Interesting background. With your early description of Hansel, I figured he would make a great Arcanist, the counter point to a Conjuror sister. Lower cost by 15, read runes and arcane lore +5 (very bookish), with the added ability that he could try and defend his sister. Together they defeated the witch. The left over points could upgrade the panther and get you a raptor too boot.

Interesting idea, but it just wouldn't have worked with what I had in mind for Hansel as the walker of dark corridors. I wanted him to be as magical as his sister, but to have arrived there via a different path; and he literally needed to be able to displace himself and other people. I also didn't want one or the other to serve as a bodyguard. That's what Johan's for.

Shōgun by James Clavell a great but not to hard read, to get a bit of an understanding of Ronin and Fuedal Japan.

Would watch the playthrough of this. Giving your minis personalities really adds investment, think analog XCOM.

Love what you did here, far to often people neglect of overlook to build a story for their group. Doesn't matter if they're going to succeed or not, as look as it's a tale worth telling. They actually would be a great group for a fantasy anime, where characters usually have to overcome challenges way out of their league and bond together. Maybe one of them will betray the party or has an ulterior motive for joining the group. ...

Crating the characters and story is one of the best bits for me. This lot should be on their first mission soon.

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring thanks. I can't wait to go through all of your Rangers of Shadowdeep videos. Good stuff man! I kickstarted the Fantasy Series 1 miniatures from Blacklist Games and they've finally sorted out the whole mess of getting them to us. I'll have almost everything is need for minis. Now onto the terrain. Lol.

I will be filming the final installment of the Rangers series soon, having taken this group through two multi-part missions. I also have the Fantasy 1 series stuff, as my wife bought a very reasonably priced copy off eBay before Christmas last year. I'm glad to hear they are finally sorting it out for backers.

I can’t seem to find transpose and teleport spell are those in a supplement book or custom.?
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring 3 жыл бұрын
In the deluxe edition of the rules, Teleport is the last spell on page 15 and Transpose is the second spell on page 16. The deluxe edition incorporates all the content from the Temple of Madness expansion, so it's possible those two spells are from that expansion and don't appear in older versions of the rules.

Seems like 2 Conjurers with extra spells is the same price as 3 conjurers. So you in your narrative are giving up an entire character to explore and worry about protecting.
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring 4 жыл бұрын
That’s right. You pay 10 points for an extra spell. Johan has his hands full caring for two conjurors; I had to cut him a break! If I was being a bit more optimal I would probably just take one conjuror with three spells then grab an archer for some range and have points left for a recruit or to boost Guinevere up to warhound status. You can actually change out your companions before each mission and even change the spells your conjurors have. So if you know you are facing undead you can stock up on spells that target the undead. I’m not doing any of that, which does mean my team isn’t very efficient.

Can't really see what your talking about since the sheet is in a Star Wars like introduction scroll. For those who have exceptional eye sight, this may be fine but for those who doesn't it's really hard to see - this is just a feedback comment, so don't take this as a negative. .
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring
@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring 4 жыл бұрын
I tested this full screen on a mobile phone and a laptop and could read it fine, so I thought it was okay. Sorry you had trouble reading it. However, the sheet doesn't say anything that I don't talk through in more detail - the sheet didn't even need to be in shot really - so you didn't miss anything at all. Thanks for watching and giving your feedback.

@@AlwaysBoardNeverBoring No apologies required friend. Just had a thought there when watching and had an epiphany where I couldn't actually concentrate on what you were saying, so I noticed that I was trying to focus more on the visual and was getting annoyed for some unknown reason... so I thought about it a little more, while also looking at the visuals, while also listening, until I remembered the Star Wars intro scroll. Novel in the first three Star Wars I've seen in my life, but seeing every Disney SW use the same scroll with more text got to be too much, it's the same kind of impression I got. So I would have just let it be but I like how you show your minis as well as showing us your methodology, so I thought I can show you also in like kind, what the, or a, viewer sees, so you can get meaningful, evolutive feedback from your work. Thanks for responding so quickly. Later, and stay safe.
