Redneck Repair: Making a cheapskate wheelbarrow wheel work better

Do you hate spending as much, or more, on a replacement part as you spent to buy the whole item...tool...thing? Then this is for you (as long as you're thinking about a wheelbarrow).

As long as they have a 5/8 axle, HF wheels are pretty cheap.

few modifications and you've saved yourself some money :-D andy paid 99 for his some time ago.. loaned it out. got it back missing a handle. replacement? over 70 bucks. ( he made his own)

I have a double wheel barrel that has one wheel that broke away from the metal on the tire. I don’t know what to do. I can’t afford a whole new wheel barrel. Kobalt double wheel wheel barrow is what I have here.

That just happened to the wheel that I used on the wheelbarrow in this video. You might try the same thing I did, getting two wheels from Harbor Freight (or somewhere). You have to measure the diameter of the axle and make sure you get wheels that fit it. I think most of the wheels at Horrible Fright fit a 5/8" axle. Then again, you might consider getting, or making, a garden cart that has 2 wheels centered (almost) on the "cargo box", like this: www.wisatakuliner.xyz/gardening-cart/inspiring-gardening-cart-2-garden-carts-with-bicycle-wheels/ This design makes the wheels carry almost ALL of the load, and you just use the handles to push it around and guide it. This is what I'm going to do.
