I have friends who run bail bonds companies. I've helped repo 3 or 4 vehicles before. I've just found the vehicle with a bit of investigating, hopped in the tow truck and hooked it. No warning, no call, nothing. With them it was when they were 3 or more months behind, so it wasn't cruel, they were irresponsible.
