I much prefer RO1's UI but the boost mechanic in RO2 is top notch and absolutely nail biting.

The boost mechanic in Redout 2 kind of reminds me of MotorStorm, where you can boost for as long as you want, but if you let the boost meter get to the end, the vehicle will explode from overheating

They did update the boost UI recently. While not as plain and simple to read as the launch UI, it certainly brings back some of the style the first game provided.

interesting that the base class in Redout 2 have speeds equivalent to class 2 or 3 in the previous game

I'm really enjoying Redout 2. I'm an avid Wipeout fan, and I just could not stand how "slippery slidey" the ships felt in the first Redout, to the point I gave up on it after a few hours. The ships feel so much more responsive in Redout 2, and I feel like I'm actually in control of where I'm going. Really happy with the direction the devs took this game.

Wow the sound design in Redout 2 is such a step up from Redout 1. I'm sure music serves to compliment/obscure shortcomings in normal gameplay, but it's a pretty stark difference between the two games.

The actual soundtrack is worse I think. Its much less varied and interesting, much more generic.

LOVE the engine/motor sounds in RO2.

To me RO1 has a more minimalistic and smooth look that transmits a better sense of speed. RO2 goes for a more busy and chaotic design which looks cool in screenshots but in movement it doesn't give me the same satisfying sense of travelling at insane speeds.

redout 1 Is way way more beautiful and that's a big issue for me. Also I enjoy way more the heavy craft feeling of the first one, which was totaly the selling point of the game compared to other games of the genre

i kinda like the more simplistic feel and look of Redout 1, though 2 is just as fun, a lil more ínstense

It bothers me a bit about Redout 2 that it has lost so much of it's identity. The soundtrack is generic and the track design is rsuper random. In redout 1, the OSt fit the tracks and themes and each track was designed around a core mechanic and enviroment. In reodut 2, each track could be placed in any enviroment and each track has a little bit of everything.

@ I don't think it's as extreme as you're saying, but in general, there is a lot more shared elements between maps. Mars in particular kind of lacks any identity, it's like a weird fusion of Cairo/fuji map design and doesn't really do anything unique (which is sad considering how awesome RO1 Mars was). I do think the subtle nuances do add up, though. at first I thought cloud ocean and Mariana were really interchangeable, but they have elements unique to themselves (cloud ocean has huge, crazy jumps and short cuts, Mariana's water allows for more aggressive boosting and the sandy turns require more care to maintain control). neo Tokyo and tartarus are similar with the aggressive turns, but Tokyo is crammed into streets while tartarus still has long jumps and scenic open spaces, plus the heat makes some segments legitimately dangerous and difficult to boost in. the soundtrack definitely is a step down this game, though, no argument there.

So... Redout 2 is basically a graphic overhaul of Redout 1. And Redout 1 was basically an homage to F-Zero.

Is there anyone who maybe know if there is any other game that take best from Redout2 and WipEout? So what I mean by that... Redout2 but with guns, or maybe there are mods to redout2? Thanks for help :)

Many people talk about the soundtrack in video games, it is the last thing that interests me!
