Awesome Video! I have see a lot of artist using the flat wide catalyst to swipe paint on the canvas. Are these catalyst for artists or are the maybe a baking tool for the kitchen? I'm having trouble finding the one you are using in this video.
@RedQueenArtCreations3 жыл бұрын
Hi Traci, I use a Messermeister bowl scraper (used for cooking, can be found on Amazon) and a Princeton catalyst wedge from any good art retailer. Hope this helps! Eleanor x

I agree so much with you Sherry, I find it very hard to get past the first layer sometimes but very often what starts out as a complete mess turns into the most beautiful art, just keep persevering! Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Eleanor x

Your art is really beautiful! Love your mark making! I have a question though: We can put acrylic over oil pastel without any problem? I know oil pastel are different than oil sticks but don't they contain a bit of oil? Thank you for sharing your techniques with us. 😁
@RedQueenArtCreations3 жыл бұрын
Hi, technically, no you should not put acrylic over oil. This was more of a mixed media piece and the oil sticks worked OK, not sure why, maybe just the formulation. Hope this helps and thank you for your lovely comment. Check out my Instagram for more ideas! :) Eleanor x

@RedQueenArtCreations5 жыл бұрын
Hi Nadia, I suppose maybe they are finished, I think what I meant to say I just use these pieces for inspiration purposes rather than ending up framing them for example as a finished piece of art. I hope this makes sense!! Thank you for your lovely comment, Eleanor x

Thanks so much! I love your videos!! Question: what product do you like the absolute best for doing super black mark making over wet? What is the black pencil shaped thing you used to put the black line work back in after the first layer of wet? Again thanks👍🏼❤😁
@RedQueenArtCreations4 жыл бұрын
Hi Tina, I think the only black pencil I used was a black Art Graf pencil, although the paint would have been dry at this point (it dried quite quickly because I used so little paint). I don't know of any pencil that would work over wet paint. So sorry for not making this clear in my video! Thank you so much for your kind comment and I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos, Eleanor :)

I’m in love with all your art thank you soooooomuch for sharing. Do u spray your pieces when done?
@RedQueenArtCreations5 жыл бұрын
Hi Paula, generally I don't use spray unless I am going to mount them or frame them, in which case I use a satin finish varnish but I don't use it very often. The only other time I use a spray is if I use charcoal or pastels which need setting and then I use a pastel fixative. But I mainly just end up putting them inside a journal for reference in which case I don't bother using any spray. Thank you so much again for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment, I really appreciate it and am glad you have enjoyed the videos, Eleanor x

I’ve watched several of your videos in a row. You are truly amazing. Can’t wait till I get back with my students in August. Had a question about what you are using . Are you using oil sticks at times. They are quite thick in diameter and I note you can smear them? If so do they dry quickly? If not oil sticks what are they. I’ve noted your oil pastels, these seem quite a bit thicker and more pigmented.
