Hello I'm the one that submitted that story :) I'm really happy you enjoyed the backstory. I shot for that idea when I was working on it! It is pretty flexible to work in a comic book or film or animation. If my skills were there, I would totally take it that level (or even collab with someone as an ideas guy!)

Depending on how you setup the backstory of the "villains" it can also become very intriguing, with plot twists, changes of perspective, who is right and who is wrong. Anyhow, it is very interesting. I really felt i was reading a MyAnymeList bio of a show while i was listening. And it is cool you happened to be here lul.

OK, but your subscribers have such creative stories to their OCs! That Krampus character totally feels like it could fit in with DC or Marvel in anything from a fun kid's episode, to a more mature plot. The Hazard is 100% a character I would personally vibe with, because I can easily see myself going down that route if I were to have an antihero background. Ambition's story is legit ambitious, & would make an amazing movie or miniseries spanning those 3 years he has remaining. From the lava to the design to the paper, Nevermore 91's antihero is just oozing over with creativity I can see fans adoring. Sevenfold is a super cool take on an antihero who is sort of a minion to a larger force; I'd also be curious to read his creator's story. Narissa has a mad-scientist experiment-gone-wrong story that has a tragic, willing-participant twist with a lot of willpower behind her that would be hard not to root for. Slimer has a description & design I can see ranging anywhere from adorable to horrific, which is always a favorite of mine in comics. And Lyrebird is such a good idea for an all-ages story people would fall in love with; this OC seriously needs a Netflix or CN cartoon once action cartoons are popular again to producers! --Oh, & the Illustrator? What would I be as an artist if I said I wasn't a fan of these powers? Boy, if I had those powers, what on earth would the earth be in for... Aside from a giant harem of anime waifus I create & beg to consensually fall in love with me, of course. Your art also is on fire, dude. So many different textures & hues instead of just a single slab of shading, it has a lot of dimension to it & you deserve to be proud of it. (:

Usually I don’t comment on stuff but this was just so good I had to. Usually I’m a lil iffy about how you draw faces and really just love how you draw muscular body types but this time... wow you really like came to a sweet spot in your style and it pays off. Blaze high key absolutely freaks me out, her personality shines through in the design heavily and it just makes her all the more creepy, I feel like like her not being coloured in also adds to the horror factor. Sevenfold is awesome and I know absolutely nothing about him but I wanna just watch him move because he looks so damn elegant. Damsel......whoa damsel, she's somehow simultaneously really devoid of morals but someone who I'm extremely empathetic to for some reason. Like her story is kind of heart breaking kind of like queen of the South inspired. I think both the design and redraw speak to how talented individuals can inspire so many feelings for a character with a drawing and some backstory alone

Line weight isn't something I've done a lot of before, and the scrappy theme will be fun. I think I'll do my OC roughed up after a fight or something, that's kind of what comes to mind at first for me. I'll have to wait and see what kind of inspiration strikes me. I loved the redraws this month. Awesome work as always! Edit: scratch that idea. I just googled the definition of scrappy and oh boy I have had a stroke of BRILLIANCE! Not telling anyone what it is though. It's a surprise.

PopCross Studios I really enjoyed this redraw because it challenged me and took me outside something I might normally draw/give a good backstory too since I’ve never really done an Anti-Hero before. These redraws are always super dun to watch because I get to see the amazing artwork of others, how your able to put your spin on them, and, well me crossing me fingers I’ll be in the video lol. I really like how your mixing it up for next month’s redraw too! I’ve recently been trying to experiment with my line weight so this will be super fun.

I just hope you'll swing back to previous redraw themes. Wasn't here in time for the superhero theme and would love to see it come around again. But with the new theme, I do kind of wonder if I might be able to do it. Line weight is difficult to alter, since I don't have the money for different pens (and so my line weight is entirely built around my supplies--the cheapest pens I can find). However, I may try something else. You said some aspects could work which aren't actually line weight changes, so maybe I can think of something like adding hatching and/or crosshatching, or spot blacks. I don't do either currently due to a less-than-stellar ability to envision where the light would fall in order to also know where shadows are, but I can try.

I just noticed, my 2 favorite anti-heroes both use dual pistols as primary weapons. Deadpool and Red Hood. (I know DP uses swords mostly but guns are also kind of his thing.)

Do you have any tips to come up with anti-hero like backstories? I just started playing D&D and I don't know what my characters backstory will be. (he is a tiefling rogue)

Oooh interesting. Hmmmm, I guess anti-heroes often have dark-ish backstories and would be chaotic good? I guess I'd say give them a good reason to have mixed morales. Something in their backstory that encourages them both to be heroic, but also self serving. Maybe they were raised by a very stoic, heroic, lawful type who was killed in the line of duty or was killed maybe by people they were trying to protect. Something that would show an anti-hero early on that being exclusively good doesn't get you anywhere (or so they'd think) I dunno, that's all thats coming to the top of my head :P Hope something in there helps!
