I was writing a lesson yesterday and I felt as if I reached a mental block. I wasn't to proceed. I have struggled through yesterday and this morning I was determined to fight through it. I played electric guitar in an old style classic hymn Church for years but started going to a different Church... Their praise band is at a pro level,they play this one and other contemporary They let me practice with them Would you pray for me to be able to play this great music with them...Thankyou

Hope you are getting better. I would offer this input: Continue to develop your "listening" ear. (Picking out ALL the parts and ALL of their little nuances.) Make TIME to practice what you are terrible at....over and over and over and over and over again. Get a metronome. Start slow then speed it up. One. click. at. a. time. Do it some more. Then do it again and again and again. If "you" practice what you are good at and just "jam" all the time"? That's not practice. I see a LOT of young folks these days that seem to want to play well but have no clue how to go about truly getting better. And above all they lack the patience and internal discipline to make "it" happen. PRACTICE. PRACTICE. PRACTICE. My prayer for you is that you continue to make time to practice mastering your craft and that you will gain the confidence and understanding that that's exactly what you (and myself/others btw) must do to achieve solid musicianship. All the best man. Over time you will find that you can become a pretty decent musician, but it ain't gonna happen with just a prayer. Roll up your sleeves and get to work!

Our church is playing this song for worship in the key of 'E,' and I see a problem with a chord used in our music. There are a number of places where a 'B' chord is in the music, but the melody has a 'G sharp,' When you play a 'B' chord, it's not a very nice sound (a 6th chord... kind of). It appears that the music should have used 'E9' chords instead. If anyone has any any ideas please let me know. The song is too good to make a muddled sound.

Can I just say: It’s amazing to me how much people get swept up in a song without even listening to the words. Yes, it’s a great song in many, many ways - musically, melody, vocalists, etc. But I challenge anyone to make sense of the lyrics at 2:53 “None can overcome when death has lost its sting.” What on earth were they smoking when they wrote that!! It makes NO sense in any way you look at it, and I can give you 5 suggestions of better lyrics that more clearly convey the truth of the gospel than that muddy statement. #rantover (BTW I hope someone from Red Rocks Worship reads this, not because they need my wisdom, but I think they do need to have some external input from someone to check their lyrics.)
