Shelf toads are OK until you meet oncoming cars, especilla when you haetodrive on the drop off side.

I agree...When you are on the 'Drop" side it is much more intimidating. Thanks for viewing our channel and commenting. It is sincerely appreciated!

How do you mount your GoPro? Where is it mounted? Love this area!

Ryan...I mount the GoPro on the front bumper on the tube steel where my additional off-road lighting is mounted. It is called "Large Tube Mount" on the GoPro website. Make sure you get the "Large" mount as it will mount to tubing 1.4" to 2.5" in diameter. There is a smaller one available that is meant for handlebars on bikes & motorcycles that will fit up to 1.4" diameter tubing. Currently the large mount is on sale on the GoPro website for $19.99 (Normally $39.99). If you look at my "Cactus Hill Channel Trailer" or the picture of my Jeep on my KZbin page you can see the 2" tube steel (It's actually aluminum as is the entire bumper...I chose aluminum for weight reasons). One additional item of note, I originally used the plastic waterproof case when I mounted the camera on the bumper to protect it from any debris that might get launched and hit the camera. What I discovered is that the camera will overheat and shut itself off. So, now I just let the camera be "Naked" and so far so good. We have gone hundreds of miles off-road with no issues. Anyway, thanks for commenting and viewing our video. It is sincerely appreciated!

Very cool video. Did you see the Three Sisters or Goblins?

Yes exactly. To see some of the best scenery and remote areas sometimes you have to deal with shelf roads.

That was Honde Arch off in the distance. Those canyons are really dramatic when you get down in them! Thanks for sharing. My wife hates shelf roads and here in the San Juan's there is a lot of them and steep. 😐

Thanks Lynn...I was pretty sure that was Hondu Arch but thanks for confirming. As I mentioned in the video, I am a "Canyon Guy". That's why Poison Springs is one of my favorite trails...NO SHELF ROADS! 😉 Well, thanks again for commenting and watching our videos. It is sincerely appreciated! Hope to see you out there one of these days.

As I always travel by motorcycle, avoiding a known shelf road and really rocky is a big no no for me. Sometimes it's unavoidable and I'm happy to get thru it. 😀Another nice vid ! Thanks

Stick&Rudder...Thanks for the input of shelf roads from a motorcyclist's view. We have a brief encounter with a pair of motorcycles in Part 3 of Reds Canyon Loop. They came up on us from behind just after we passed the turn off for the "Hidden Splendor" trail. I think they came in from that trail and then passed us on McKay Flat Road. We pulled over to let them pass as they were traveling a bit faster than we were. I like to give them as much road as I can as it is much different on 2 wheels than 4. On two, I assume you really have to be careful picking your line. Anyway, thanks again for the wonderful comment and viewing our channel. It is sincerely appreciated!

I like shelf roads as they add to the adventure, albeit nervously!
