Lisa's husband, Andy here. This was a super high-profile game when the Reds probably had their best ever side and a good win as well. The thing I remember most about this game was that the Newcastle fans came down in their thousands and laid siege to the town and its pubs for three days.👍

The Dove Inn on Doncaster Road didn’t open their doors for a few years on matchdays after this game, they ran amok

I always with out any luck try to find my my young self stood peering over front of brewery end on these early 80s matches..to no avail so far

its amazing how the speed of the game hasn't changed at all if it wasnt for the kits and hair cuts lol u would think it was a championship game today
