HUGE LASH UP ON THE CANADIAN NATIONAL! UP/CN/AND BNSF POWER WITH DRONE VIEWS. OSAGE SUB, CN L570!

01/26/2025 Cedar Falls, IA. This North bound Osage Sub train was a long one. Waterloo, IA. A CN L570 made an early appearance. Back in Cedar Falls I caught the L571 with a huge lash up and foreign power! Iowa Northern and Slugs followed shortly after the L571.

I've never seen a train broken into 3 pieces on the line before, like the ìmmobile train at the start. It certainly was a long one! I wish it would have been enroute as opposed to parked, but we don't control the railroads. Thanks for the excellent video, including the frozen river! It was very cool 😎, Red! 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤

That was a long train of grain cars sitting on the Canadian National's Osage Subdivision. Your drone was able to show us the length of the train and the fact that the train had to be broken up at several road crossings to allow vehicle traffic to proceed. The L571 looks like it is overpowered based on the number of locomotives on the head end. It was interesting to see the chemical tank cars on the eastbound Iowa Northern Railroad train. Usually, the only tank cars that we see on the Iowa Northern trains have ethanol tank cars on them. Thank you for documenting these trains, Red! (Posted on 5 February 2025 at 1330 CST.)

Good Evening Red, How ya doing today? Drone work is second to none my friend. You get a lot a range with it. That CSX on the east bound CN (4th engine) had a panel door open on it. Yup, definitely some nice power on that CN L571, 7 locos just screaming! The Iowa Northern with its usual power. Those slugs would look fantastic is white red and black colours. A day late for me again 🤠. That unit grain train is "shockingly" long. How many grain cars is that? BTW.......got my hair cut at the best barber in Waterloo. His shop is two blocks from the Waterloo train yard. They had 4th St. blocked for almost an hour. Happy to use the Newell St route around it. Looks like that train on the Osage sub at the start of the video was a 100 car DDG unit train with 18 cars of short work on the head end. If I had to guess...

It is interesting to see the huge difference between the train lengths of the CN on the eastern side of Iowa (long) and that of the same line (short if anything) in western Iowa.
