and Welcome to a Jackfruit Dumplings ( फणसाचे पुडे ) Special Episode of @RedSoilStories
I was working in our farm, while returning home I harvest one ripened jackfruit and brought it home. I gave it to Pooja and she asked me to cut the jackfruit and she will clean it and remove the jackfruit bulbs ( फणसाचे गरे ).
We cut and cleaned the jackfruit and had some bulbs while doing it. I asked Pooja what she'll prepare from the rest of the jackfruit, she asked me to bring some jackfruit leaves. I went to bring some leaves, meanwhile Pooja started preparing for the Jackfruit dumplings ( फणसाचे पुडे / डोणे ).
Jackfruit dumplings are traditionally made in Kokan region of Maharashtra. These are rice flour dumplings filled with coconut-jaggery-jackfruit filling. It is a sweet dish and can be eaten for breakfast. These are usually cooked in the jackfruit leaves and steamed.
Pooja prepared these dumplings and we enjoyed it for the breakfast.

Nice dumplings. Reminded me of my Mangolorian neighbour aunty making Idli in jackfruit leaves and calling for breakfast on Sundays. Just now my wife asked me to get a nice ripe jackfruit. Hope to get one in Navi Mumbai Puja take care and be cheerful as we see you ❤

फणस आणला शिरीषने मेहनत करून फार फार, अंगण झाडता झाडता पडला पूजाचा कटाक्ष एकवार.... चेहऱ्यावरचा आनंद काही लपवता आला नाही पूजाला, काय करू फणसाचे अन् काय नको ऐसे चेहरेपर छाया बडा उजाला....(☺) उसी उजालोकी किरणोंने सोचा बनाएंगे फणसके पुडे, काय बाई रेसिपी ही नवीनच आम्ही रसिक तर केवळ बापुडे....(😌) पूजाला आमुच्या सगळेच शक्य अन्नपूर्णेच्या वरदानाने, काही सुदैवी असतीलही तीज जैसे तर काही जीवन जगती मानाने....(😊) फणसपानाच्या द्रोणामधे पुडे फणसाचे विसावले, चटके वाफांचे सुखकर साहूनी जिव्हा इतरांच्या लाळावले....(😋) राजा मोगलीच्या गावाबाहेरचे फणसाचे पुडे जरी असले, नाकं न मुरडता ते दोघेही वागणे ना दर्शवी कधी तसले...(❤) (पूजा शिरीष, बडे झकास तुम्हारे पुडे..) ता.क. : तब्येतीकडे लक्ष ठेवा.. कल्याणमस्तु......
