I love the concept, but please, for the good of all redstone, prepower the dust to ss14. It will significantly reduce the lag especially of the greater render distances and the lines will truly be independant of each other as only the dust in that line will even update.

Think I understand. However there are some trades off. Doing 15 + observer makes it chunk aligned, going 14 would mean it it will get misaligned with 2 detectors in 1 chunk. Now I could space the wires to all be sperate but not as compacted. Did look at powered rails but that needed more observers, meaning maybe more delay (and they don't do 15 long)

@@mooing_cowmilk not quite. Leave the setup as is, except power the dust the observers would normally power to 15, with a strength of 14. For example place comparators facing the machine on top of the observers, then something like a barrel that is almost full behind the comparators and a full block in front of it to power the dust below that is also powered by the comparators. Now all the rows should be observer, ss14-0, repeat. When the observer powers it makes it 15-1 again while the row next to it would still be 14-0, this will greatly reduce lag as there are far less updates as each dust only goes up or down by 1 instead of all the way to 15 and back.

Wait this is so cool, that's such a unique concept!
