I installed mine about 6 or 7 years ago. I live in Florida so I can only use it maybe 5 months of the year but I love it. I let it run on low all night long because I love the fresh air. Some places in the US have Radon gas which can be deadly over time so this kind of fan can ventilate it out.

I see you bought the 3100 model. How many sq ft is your house? How much attic vents do you have and how big are they? How much air flow in the house do you get? Quiet Cool recommends a lot of venting which I think most houses don’t have. Trying to size a unit for my house right now. Thanks!

do you have 2 vents on both sides of the house? or on the roof? The fan weighs about 50 lbs. Having an extra wood to hold like trust will be helpful

@@dingpongcrate my house was built in 1983 they only put two vents on one side of the house but i do have a gable vent on the south side of the house. The whole house fan will circulate the house. This means cooler air inside of the house and pushing out hot air out of the attic.

Where does the air come from that you are pumping into your attic? You are creating a vacuum in your house that will suck hot air through any door jam, window or leak from the outside. You have also punched through your insulation R value 30+. So if that fan isn't running (plastic flaps R value

Thank you for the comment. The air comes from outside by opening windows during the evening and morning when the temperature is cooler. I place new insulation around the vent area. I do need a new insulation cover for the vent flop during winter. This type of whole-house fan is very popular in California. Most people have this sys

A gable fan is not an option on many homes, as mine does not have gable ends. This type of unit is intended to have several windows opened when the outside temperature is lower than the inside. The eves vent this hot air outside to help cool the attic as well.
