Good interesting stuff. Like yours, my Cadet trigger is nice. I must get it out and put a few rounds down range with it soon..

I looked up the martini cadet,s history and what they did was drill and tap a hole from the guard up to the trigger spring to adjust the tension on the spring it was a factory modificatin it was several years back maybe 5 so i cannot give you all the details but its there

Hi mate, I've had Cadets for 40 yrs. Some in .22LR others in centerfire. The best way to improve the trigger is to replace the leaf spring with a coiled spring. Doug Barnes here in WA used to do a lot of conversions (I have one in .222R) and the trigger he set up is crisp and light but safe against bump fire.

G'Day Steve. That's interesting. I hadn't heard of that conversion. I have another Cadet action with a heavy trigger spring and I can make leaf springs so am planning to do a video showing the making and replacement by a much lighter leaf spring of the same design. I guess back in the day they made the trigger spring heavy for safety with novice shooters.

@@456eec Indeed, they were for kids really. I've worked on quite a few. .22LR. .22WRM. .222R. .223R. .357Max. 6mm Phillips. .257 Mag. 25/20 Imp. I also have a Martini Henry in .35 Whelan rimmed.

@@garycorbier9123 Yes I have a Martini Henry in .35 Whelan (Rimmed). Based on the 9.3x72 case shortened and necked. It is a beast to shoot. 200gn at 2700fps in an 8lb rifle.

Would the procedure for reducing the trigger pull pressure on the Martini Cadet be similat to what it would be on a Martini-Enfield in .303 Cal.? My Martini Enfield has a trigger pul of somewhere around 20 lbs of pressure. Just pulling the trigger is painful.

They don't have the removable Francotte system but the principle would be the same. May be worth dismantling abd polish the sear surfaces and possibly replace the trigger spring with a lighter one.
