I had a well paid job but it was very stressful and I ended up having a breakdown, they got rid of me eventually, so I took a few months off to try and get my head right, I've been looking for work since February and I've applied for everything and anything but I just can't get an interview. I'm 60 btw and live in Grimsby, I really hope you have better look than me when you come to look for work.

Hi Phil, Thanks for your video. I'm living in the Philippines at the moment, but have been looking for work mostly in Australia and NZ. I have applied for a dozen or so jobs in the UK with no luck so far. The worst place for me is Australia. I get the feeling that ageism is alive and well there. Most of the recruitment agencies seem to be run by people in their 20 - 30's and anything over 35 goes into the used by date bin. I am 58. Do you know what it is like in the UK at the moment (after Christmas)?

@@Phillips66Geo to be honest I have no idea, it's going to be interesting when I officially have to look for work next year, I can see it being an issue but will cross that bridge when I come to it Hope you find something soon

taking anything after working so many years is not sponging. It is your right after paying NI and income tax. Other benefits are useful if still available such as cheaper prescritions. it is your right.

@@pixie706 honestly I love my A5, there's no way I'm ever selling that car, I know where you are coming from, believe me but I was in the position to buy the 2nd car to assist my Mum It's all legal to drive now as well 👍🏼

Yoy need to do your U/C now to get NI credits for state pension also they will give you hassle asking why you spent your money then decide to claim
